Because this fund contains largely tech stocks, it does carry more risk — but also more room for reward. Tech companies can be more volatile than organizations in other industries, but they’re also known for their exponential growth.

One advantage of this ETF is that it has a long track record. It was established in 1999, making it one of the oldest ETFs. Over the past 10 years, it’s earned an average rate of return of nearly 20% per year. And since its inception in 1999, its average return is just over 9% per year.

What Can You Do To Speed Things Up

Professional sellers can shorten this time frame. They can offer tracked delivery and then upload the tracking numbers on Amazon asap. For US sellers, its mandatory, in fact. But bear in mind that it can take Amazon some time to update delivery records.

They can also set their accounts for daily disbursements, if theyre eligible. As long as they ship quickly and time their disbursements for faster payment, it shouldnt take more than 2 weeks to get paid. But for most sellers, the only real option is to switch to FBA.

Buy As Much Amzn As You Can

Then there’s that third argument I mentioned – it’s really kind of a different “flavor” of the first: “It’s too expensive – I can’t afford to sink that much capital into one stock.”

For a long time, it was tough to argue with that one. For years, you’d likely be compelled to buy “round lots” of shares, 100 or more. You could buy less – maybe – but you’d have to fork over an “odd lot” fee, not to mention a tidy commission charge.

Not everyone has $350,000 to spend on 100 shares of Amazon; that’s more than a house costs in a lot of the country. For that matter, not everyone has $3,500 to sink into one stock.

These days, though, investors are on easy street in that regard, thanks to the “Fractional Shares” revolution.

I’m constantly surprised by the number of investors who haven’t heard the good news about this change. Fractional shares are what they sound like, fractions of shares, and it’s put powerful but pricey stocks into more portfolios than ever before.

It’s the democratization of the markets, baby! Wealth to the masses. Dig it.

These days, cost-conscious investors can set aside $50, $100, $500, or $1,000 and own a fraction of a share. Whether you own 100 shares, or 1 share, or 0.33% of 1 share, it appreciates the same. Not every brokerage allows the purchase of fractional shares, but many of the “zero-commission” discount brokerages do let their customers do that.

With Amazon – stock at all-time;highs, some might think it’s a smart move to cash out of this $360-billion plus e-commerce behemoth.

Sure, Amazon’s shares will react to the odd market swing and will see some wild fluctuations when its earnings scorecard is released. But this e-commerce giant is just getting started. It affords not only growth but also relative safety.

Jeff Bezos Is Too Rich For One Lifetime So He’s Trying To Live Forever

An immortal billionaire with a space fetish sounds like the villain from a sci-fi flick that scored 38% on Rotten Tomatoes. Reality, unfortunately, is getting uncomfortably close to that movie. Jeff Bezos, a currently mortal billionaire, is apparently searching for the formula to preserve his youth â or even turn back the clock a little.

Imagine having more money than anybody has ever had at any time in history, and instead of addressing world hunger, you strive to become the human equivalent of an everlasting gobstopper. Amazon founder and Patagonia jacket aficionado Bezos is investing in Altos Labs, a tech company dedicated to discovering how to reverse the aging process.

A few months before Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon in July, he sent a letter to staff saying he would spend his time on his philanthropic pursuits and passion projects, such his space exploration company Blue Origin. When a plebeian such as I thinks of the term âphilanthropy,â there are about 2,000 systemic issues that come to mind before reversing the aging process, from famine and water shortages to police brutality, global warming, and why McDonaldâs ice cream machines are always broken. But hey, to each their own.

For context, this isnât Bezosâs first anti-aging research crusade. In 2018, he invested in Unity Technologies, a biotech company whose goal is to create and discover treatments and medicines that could be used to stave off the diseases associated with aging.

The Amazon Disbursement Timeline

How long it takes for your funds to be sent to you is not entirely up to Amazon. As a new seller, you have the option to request daily disbursements into your bank account. This can help offset the effects of the reserve.

Unfortunately, this doesnt always apply to older, grandfathered accounts. They tend to come with automatic disbursements every 2 weeks. But on the upside, they dont usually have reserves, unless they were suspended at some point.

So, disbursements and reserves balance each other out. Whether the funds are tied up in a reserve or waiting to be disbursed, isnt the issue; uncertainty is. To a seller, the only real difference is that disbursements are guaranteed because the balance is available; not so with reserves.

But the most important factor affecting this timeline is, in fact, the tracking number. When sellers upload it as soon as they ship, they tilt the scales in their favor. Amazon would then replace the EDD with the actual delivery date, and start the reserve countdown right away.

For people selling internationally, the total wait can, hypothetically, take over 50 days, if they dont send tracked shipments. Thats 28 days to the end of the EDD, 7 for the hold, up to 14 until the next disbursement; The name of the payment Amazon maMore, and a few more days for the transfer to clear. And they never know if or when the reserve will be lifted.

What Is The Legal Basis For A Hold

Amazon withholding funds is common practice. Back in 2013, The Seattle Times chased up lawsuits filed by sellers for this very reason. They usually came about because sellers felt their accounts were shut down on a whim and their funds withheld for too long.

But selling agreements include a clause whereby US sellers give up their right to take Amazon to court. They opt for arbitration instead. Amazon also argues that it needs to hold funds from the sale of potentially counterfeit goods indefinitely. Thats because buyers could demand refunds or even sue them sometime in the future.

There was a time when courts in the USA would have agreed with Amazon on both accounts. But Kenneth Eade of AmazonSellers.Attorney claimed on Born2Invest that the law says otherwise now. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act was recently updated. And it downgrades companies like Amazon from legal holder of seller funds to constructive trustee.

So, instead of keeping seller funds indefinitely, Amazon is bound by law to turn them over. Unless theres a court order banning it, of course. But only if its a copyright issue. Still, youll see this hasnt stopped Amazon from doing it anyway. And few sellers are willing to dispute it.

Seller Reserve Versus Amazon Pay Reserve

Theres no page on Amazon that explains how long Amazon reserve restrictions last. Or why theyre really needed. But there are similarities between this policy and the Amazon Pay Reserve Policy.

So, a merchant who charges e-shoppers via Amazon Pay is placed in Reserve Tier I. Only funds that are not the subject of a chargeback or a claim are disbursed 7 days after the estimated delivery date.

Another connection between these two types of reserves is that they can change. For Amazon Pay merchants, its called being upgraded to Tier II. It can happen after a year of registering or upon request. From then on, Amazon only keeps a small percentage of the sales, but for 28 days.

For Amazon sellers, theres no clear transition. Some sellers report being stuck with a reserve for years without knowing why, even with spotless records. Some claim the 7-day reserves are lifted, but theres still confusion over random earnings from their Amazon disbursements.

Sabra Health Care Reit

Sabra Health Care REIT is a completely different investment opportunity from Amazon, but it shares some key characteristics. Sabra is a real estate income trust that owns 426 properties, including senior housing, skilled nursing facilities, and specialty hospitals.

Telehealth and home health are becoming more popular, reducing the demand for physical properties at which healthcare services are provided. Still, Sabra is specifically focused on services that are more difficult to provide remotely. Demographics are also firmly on its side as baby boomers age and even larger generations follow.

That long-term stability is encouraging, and there’s a reason to be excited today as well. Sabra pays nearly a 7% dividend yield right now, following a challenging pandemic period in which the company slashed its dividend. However, operations appear to be stabilizing, and the REIT is producing more than enough cash to support its distribution. Funds from operations were $0.39 per share in the most recent quarter, and Sabra issued guidance for a similar Q2. That 1.3 distribution coverage ratio is high enough for investors to feel comfortable that the dividend will be sustainable.

How Do Amazon Payment Transfers Work And When Will You Get Your Funds

When all is said and done, you might not get your payouts for 17-19 business days after making a sale. Lets break it down:

Amazon uses only one method of payment: ACH transfers to your bank account. Because these are not Same Day ACH transfers, you can expect to see your funds in your bank account within 5 business days. Whether its the next day or the fifth day depends on the bank you use and the type of account you have.

According to Amazon, Transfers can take 3-5 business days to complete. The current amount displayed is an estimate and may vary from the amount transferred based on new activity in your seller account, including: product sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and A-to-z Guarantee Claims.

This 3-5 business days is in addition to the 14 day payout cycle, hence why you could end up waiting nearly 20 days for payment.

Regardless of how long payment takes to post, youll see a deposit labeled in one of two ways :

1. Amazon Payments, Inc. covers transactions where buyers agree to pay on or before the shipment of goods.

2. Amazon Services LLC includes transactions where buyers agree to pay after shipment.
