Can You Resell On Ebay Too
Jessica mentioned a tool called JoeLister, which automatically generates eBay sales pages from Amazon inventory. You can even have Amazon ship the item to your eBay customer on your behalf.
It also works out what price you need to list the product on eBay to make the same profit. Jessica said this is most useful in instances when Amazon itself has received stock of the same item you just purchased.
What To Sell On Amazon Fba
Regarding what to sell on , its crucial to remember that its a price-driven marketplace. This means that people visit the website to find the best deal. Thus, your products must be attractive to your target audience and often in a particular price range.
When it comes to , the criteria for the products you choose to sell remain the same as when you sell on Amazon and manage and ship orders yourself.

Wholesaling: Buy Products In Bulk Directly From An Existing Manufacturer Or Brand
Being a wholesaler through e-commerce is, in many respects, very similar to classic wholesaling at a brick and mortar shop.
You find a supplier typically an established manufacturer or brand. Then you purchase product in bulk from them usually at a steep discount.
This has the benefit of a better profit margin for you , as well as the assurance that youre purchasing authentic product directly from the brand.
People arrive at the wholesaling model from a variety of backgrounds. Some are business people already familiar with how wholesaling works traditionally, and are looking to bring their model online.
Others are retail or online arbitrage sellers who eventually hit a ceiling in terms of being able to scale their business up after all, there are only so many hours in the day that you can spend cruising from store to store.
Wholesaling requires a more business-savvy approach. Arbitrage is arguably easier with a faster inventory turnover you find gaps in marketplace offerings and make money quick, but your income potential plateaus at some point.
In some ways, wholesaling is just a larger version of online arbitrage!
Laws vary from state to state, so for US sellers, youll need to find what laws apply to small businesses and wholesalers. Amazon will also ask for proof that youre licensed to sell a certain brand, if youre reselling products from an established brand.

Create An Inventory Strategy
One of the biggest mistakes resellers make is that they dont properly analyze their inventory levels. They assume that inventory levels dont matter as much for reselling as they do for private labeling.
But inventory is a foundation of the reselling business. A surplus of unsold goods can be intensely expensiveespecially if you are forced to liquidate for a lower cost than purchasing price. On the other hand, too few goods in inventory can leave you without products to sell to your customers. This can cause you to constantly spend time looking for new products and orders, which takes up time and resources.
Before you invest in reselling a specific product, youll want to forecast your sales and inventory based on competition, pricing, quality, and market need.
Retail Arbitrage: Buy Products In
Retail arbitrage is probably one of the easiest gateway methods into becoming a serious full-time seller on Amazon and eventually establishing an ecommerce business. Many Amazon sellers began with this route.
Retail arbitrage involves purchasing products in person from physical stores, then taking those products and reselling them at a higher price.
How is it possible to make a profit if you purchase your inventory at retail value?
The trick is to hunt for products at a discount. The most common way is to go to big box retailers.
Think large consumer goods stores like:
- Target
- Chain office/hardware supply stores like Staples, Lowes, and Home Depot
- Chain pharmacies like Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS
- Chain pet stores like Petsmart and Petco
These large retailers often rotate large amounts of merchandise at a steep discount, sometimes as high as 80% or 90% when on clearance.
Part of the fun is the hunt. Those who make it a full-time business simply drive from store to store and load up their car with their finds.
To make price comparisons even easier, there are apps you can use to scan the barcodes of items in-store. The app will take you to the Amazon page of that item so you can quickly see the products price, other sellers, ranking, and other essential data.

Why Start A Resale Business
Theres a low barrier to entry with resale businesses because youre not creating and manufacturing your own products. Theres demand for the products already and its your job to sell them to people.
Creating your own products, branding them, packaging them and marketing them takes a level of commitment that not everyone has. Over time if you enjoy the business model and want to grow your online business, then it makes sense to design your own products.
Resale businesses leverage online platforms like Amazon and eBay. But if you want to grow then it makes sense to start your own website and spend money on advertising. You start owning more of your sale instead of giving it to Amazon or eBay.
Creating Your Amazon Listing
Now that you have chosen your products, its time to list them on Amazon. Dont make the mistake that other dropshippers are making and just copy and paste the listing from AliExpress to Amazon!
This is a bad strategy for several reasons:
- Its bad for Google SEO: Google doesnt like duplicate content
- Its bad for Amazon SEO: Another dropshipper might be listing the same product on Amazon and might have copied and pasted the listing already. Amazon doesnt like duplicate content either
- Customers can tell: The listing may have grammatical and spelling errors, and customers will be able to tell you lazily copied it
- It wont work: It might just be a poorly written listing. Also, what works to gain visibility on AliExpress wont necessarily work on Amazon
Use the information from the AliExpress listing to write your own, unique Amazon listing. If you ordered a sample, you can write a listing based on the firsthand information you have.
Use a keyword tool like Keywordtool.io to find high-volume keywords to use in your title and description.
Use size charts from the AliExpress description in your own listing, when applicable.
As for images, you can take images directly from AliExpress. One problem with this strategy is that if another dropshipper listed that product, your product images will look the same.
To get around this, dont use the first AliExpress image as your first image. Instead, use the second or third image as your default Amazon image.

Research Thrift Store Flipping
When it comes to finding the best selling itemsyou have to do your research so you can know that you are buying the most profitable things to sell on eBay, Craigslist, Amazon or other online apps.
As you are shopping for things to sell for money, always have your smartphone with you so that you can check the going prices on the platforms you want to sell. That way you can compare the cost of the item with the cost of the selling price.
PRO TIP: Make sure to not only check the amount the item is priced at online, but also check to see what percentage of that item has sold. If the percent of sell is low then you would want to pass up the purchase because its not likely to resell or it may take a long time.

Can You Resell Items On Amazon
youitemyou canAmazon wouldYou canthings
. People also ask, can I resell Amazon products?
Yes, even if you purchased the items from Amazon and resold them on Amazon if a customer complained, Amazon will not accept their own receipts to prove authenticity. Third, there will rarely be enough margins between the price you pay Amazon for the merchandise and what you can resell it for.
Similarly, is it legal to buy things and resell them? Generally, it’s not illegal to resell an item that you have legitimately purchased. Once you have purchased something at retail it is yours to do with as you choose. Manufacturers tend to have little or no control over a product past the first customer they sell to.
Also Know, where can I buy stuff to resell on Amazon?
Best Way to Find Items to Resell on AmazonMost well-known stores like Walmart, Big Lots, Target, and Home Depot have clearance sections where you can find products that you can resell on Amazon or even ebay. Top Selling Items On Amazon: Product Research Software

Pinpointing top selling products is more complicated than simply looking at Amazons best seller list. Its just the first step and a way to gather ideas. Unfortunately, its impossible to find all the relevant information there.
The fact is that you need a more scientific approach. You need to know the stats behind each product before you decide to invest in it:
- What are its average monthly sales?
- How many other people are selling it?
- What is its average price, average reviews or sales history?
- What kind of sales margins can you expect?
- Are its sales trending up or down?
As a consequence, consider using third party product research tools that can show you this information, for example AMZScouts Product Database and Pro Extension.

How To Make A Profit From Reselling Items
If you want to make money from reselling, youre going to want to look for items with high-profit margins. The best way to do this is by purchasing items from manufacturers or wholesalers at a low price and then listing them for sale on Amazon at a higher price.
For example, if you find an item from a wholesaler for around $20. You can then offer the product on Amazon at $50 with free shipping and usually sell your item within a day or two of listing it. This leaves you with a $30 profit margin on each item.
As long as you remember to list items under different categories, take clear pictures, write detailed descriptions, and use keywords that will increase visibility in search engines, you should be able to make money reselling products online!

Everything Is Negotiable With Sellers From Alibaba
Do not exaggerate when negotiating with a seller, your goal should be to get a fair deal, not a good deal.
You have to be careful though because if you keep pushing on price and they believe you wont reorder without a lower price the factories WILL sacrifice quality to meet your price.
If they are forced to lower a quote then they might use inferior materials and with the Chinese unless youre strict and clear on what you want then quality could be a real issue.
The best thing to do is to compare prices and to tell the supplier that there are other manufacturers offering this product at competitive prices. Quality and profit margin is more important than getting a good deal in my opinion.
I learned not to push too much in price since I have had already quality problems.
The key to avoiding this is to specify the quality you expect for the product, this is very important, size, color, materials, toleranceswith this information on the table, you can negotiate better prices.
You dont want to get a better price at the expense of lower quality.
For small initial orders, I usually offer 60% of the first quoted price.
In general, I get the best price after the 2nd reorder because by that time they feel that I will be a long-term customer and I normally get 30% off of the initial quote.
Try to find the original manufacturer instead of the many middleman companies that are out there.

Top Retailers For Sourcing Products
When it comes to finding clearance items, your best bet is box-box retail staples and wholesale clubs/warehouses, including stores like:
- Walmart
- Sams Club
- Costco
You should also consider home improvement stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, discount clothing stores, office supply stores and grocers, including the following:
- Lowes
- Publix
- Safeway
Dont forget to check out other potential goldmines like Big Lots, Dollar General, Gamestop, Barnes & Noble, Home Goods, Michaels and more for items on clearance.
Flea markets and outlet malls can also be sources of products.
Always be on the lookout for store closing signs and moving sales. Its often cheaper for companies that are moving to sell their wares at a discount rather than pay to have them relocated.
Dropshipping: Like Wholesale Except You Never Physically Handle The Product
Important: Amazon has some rules about dropshipping that differ from traditional dropshipping, which well mention in a moment.
Traditional dropshipping is when you form a relationship with a manufacturer, and that manufacturer handles the shipping for you.
For example, you set up your ecommerce store, and people come to your site to purchase a product. Once they do, you send the shipping info to your manufacturer, who directly ships the product from their warehouse to the customer.
Basically, you never handle the product yourself. Youre the frontend of the store, while your supplier is the backend.
Now with Amazon, there is a slight difference.
Amazon does not allow you to dropship in this manner IF any information on or in the packaging identifies a company or seller other than you.
This basically means in most cases you cant dropship directly, since any packages sent directly from the dropshipper would include their shipping address and contact info on the labels at the very least, if not in packing slips, invoices, etc.
If you can find a way to dropship directly while ensuring no third-party information appears on or in the packaging, you might be okay.
Another way around this is to use the FBA model and have your dropshipper send inventory directly to Amazon.
You still wouldnt have to handle the product yourself, and youd have to pay FBA fees, so its up to you to decide if this is worth it.
to make sure youre complying with their drop shipping policies!
