Can You Work At Amazon At 15
The question of whether you can work at Amazon at fifteen years old has many different answers. While the firm requires its workers to have a high school diploma, it has implemented pilot programs that allow those without a high school diploma to obtain a free GED. In addition, while Amazon doesn’t allow minors to work in warehouses, it does allow workers in Fort Worth, Texas, Dallas, Seattle, and other cities.
However, Amazon does not recruit teenagers as employees, and their warehouses can be dangerous for underage workers. If you are a high school student who is interested in working at Amazon, look for an after-school job at a local retailer. Kmart, Target, Best Buy, and American Eagle Outfitters are all good places to look for an after-school job. Other options include private companies with stores.

What Its Really Like Working For Amazon
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994 as an online bookseller. Fast-forward to 2020, and Amazon is one of the worlds largest, most powerful, and controversial companies.
Amazon now employs nearly a million workers worldwide. At the end of the first quarter of 2020, the tech giant had more than 840,000 full- and part-time employees, according to its earnings report.
The multinational company also reported its net sales rose 26% in the first quarter to a staggering $75 billion. Though it started with selling books and music, Amazon has become the Everything Store, an online retailer of numerous products, the new owner of Whole Foods, and much more.
So, whats it like to work for the worlds most valuable brand? It depends on who youre asking. Amazon has several subsidiaries and business functions, so it would be difficult to cover every area of working for this tech behemoth. Working in an Amazon warehouse is much different than working as a delivery driver, in the corporate offices, or as a remote employee.
As one of the Big Four tech companies like Facebook and Google, Amazon is also a frequent target of criticism for a hyper-competitive work culture and its role as a corporate monopoly in the American economy. Major media sites have run multiple investigations into Amazons work culture over the years.

Contributing Factors Regarding Amazon Hiring You

I can tell you for a fact that some felony convictions are a 100% guarantee that Amazon will not hire you. Murder and sex offense charges are extremely hard to overcome for many. There are some other factors that will also play into Amazons decision.
- Time since you have been released. The more time that has gone by the better chance you will have at being hired.
- The type of conviction also makes a difference. Violent felonies are worse that non-violent, but I cannot tell you specifically which felonies are better than others.
- What you have done to improve yourself since you got into trouble.

Status From The International Labour Organization
The International Labour Organization’s first ever Recommendation was targeted at fee charging agencies. The Unemployment Recommendation, 1919 , Art. 1 called for each member to,
“take measures to prohibit the establishment of employment agencies which charge fees or which carry on their business for profit. Where such agencies already exist, it is further recommended that they be permitted to operate only under government licenses, and that all practicable measures be taken to abolish such agencies as soon as possible.”
The Unemployment Convention, 1919, Art. 2 instead required the alternative of
“a system of free public employment agencies under the control of a central authority. Committees, which shall include representatives of employers and workers, shall be appointed to advise on matters concerning the carrying on of these agencies.”
In 1933 the Fee-Charging Employment Agencies Convention formally called for abolition. The exception was if the agencies were licensed and a fee scale was agreed in advance. In 1949 a new revised Convention was produced. This kept the same scheme, but secured an ‘opt out’ for members that did not wish to sign up. Agencies were an increasingly entrenched part of the labor market. The United States did not sign up to the Conventions. The latest Convention, the Private Employment Agencies Convention, 1997 takes a much softer stance and calls merely for regulation.

Amazon Warehouse Employees See Some Crazy Orders
If thereâs one thing all Amazon warehouse workers will tell you, itâs that people order some weird things. âThe amount of stand-up life-size Justin Biebers I saw was unnecessary,â Mided says. âAnd a lot more sex toys than you would think. Really odd ones. Even grown men or women warehouse workers are still kinda like a 12-year-old when they see that. Amazon really does sell everything.â

‘a Better Vision For How We Create Value For Employees’
Amazon has also faced a number of complaints over the years due to its treatment of workers in its fulfillment centers, the massive warehouses where employees package goods to be shipped out to customers.
Workers have complained of untenable conditions and requirements that force them to stay on their feet for hours and box items at an incredible pace. Drivers in particular have said theyve needed to skip their own bathroom breaks to deliver packages on time, finding themselves having to urinate into plastic bottles.
In April, Amazon defeated a large-scale unionization drive at one of its fulfillment centers. Workers there were seeking to join the The Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union, or RWDSU, but fell far short of the necessary votes with 1,798 votes cast against the union and 738 were cast in its favor.
The RWDSU says it will appeal the vote over alleged interference by Amazon.
The retail giant, meanwhile, has pushed back against claims that it mistreats employees, pointing to its $15-per-hour starting wage and available health benefits.
In his final shareholder letter as CEO, however, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos acknowledged the union vote, writing that the company needed to do more for its employees.
Bezos wrote in the April letter. While the voting results were lopsided and our direct relationship with employees is strong, its clear to me that we need a better vision for how we create value for employees a vision for their success,
