Amazon To Sell Apple Products For First Time But There’s One Key Item Missing
Amazon’s latest deal will see Apple’s iPhone and other hardware for sale via the online giant’s site
Apple hardware is going to be sold on in the UK as well as other countries in Europe. The deal also extends to Japan and, naturally, the US.
Amazon does already sell Apple hardware, but it’s all through third-party marketplace merchants. That means wildly different levels of pricing and customer service as well as differing return policies if something goes wrong.
The new deal will mean customers will be able to get the new iPhones, Macbooks and iPads directly from Amazon – perhaps even faster than Apple can deliver them to customers. Amazon offers same or next day delivery on many products.
As a result of selling Apple products Amazon may get further insight into sales data. That may, eventually, lead to Amazon developing more of its own products to compete with Apple.
Amazon will sell most Apple hardware, with a notable exception being the Homepod. Apple’s smart speaker competes with Amazon’s Alexa-equipped Echo devices. This is unsurprising, as Amazon also refuses to sell Google’s competing products.
Interestingly Apple’s iPad, which goes up against Amazon’s own tablets isn’t excluded – but the two companies compete at different areas of the market. Apple’s is high-end while Amazon’s is low-cost and family-focused.
Originally Amazon kept Prime TV off Apple’s hardware too, although that changed in late 2017 when the steaming service finally arrived on Apple TV.

According to a report from Patently Apple, more than 90% of Apple chargers and cables sold on Amazon are fake. The problem? They werent being sold by third-parties;;Amazon itself has apparently;been selling fake Apple products labelled as the real thing.
Apple has reportedly filed a trademark infringement case against Mobile Star LLC, which is the company Amazon named as the primary supplier of the fake products.
Apple says Mobile Star not only illegally used the companys trademark, but it also sold products that had not passed necessary safety tests.;And considering the situation Samsung is in after the company didnt have its batteries tested by an outside company ensuring the safety of electronics is a big deal.

That last bullet is extremely important: if you are selling a bundle of multiple single products, you must purchase a unique UPC for that bundle.;

More Apple Products Are Coming To Amazon Under A New Deal

- There’s one big exception: Apple’s HomePod smart speaker will will not be available on Amazon.
In a new agreement between tech giants and Apple, shoppers will soon see a selection of the latest Apple products on Amazon.com, Amazon told CNBC in statement.
The agreement means the latest Apple products like the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max will be available on Amazon.
Amazon and Apple have a history of tentatively approaching deals with one another, careful not to give the other an undue advantage. Until last year, the companies were in a standoff over the Apple TV. Apple wanted Amazon to sell the product on its site, and in turn, Amazon wanted Apple to add its Prime Video streaming app to the device. Amazon stopped selling the Apple TV in 2015, which CEO Jeff Bezos later explained was to avoid confusing customers who would assume Amazon’s streaming service would come standard on a device they buy on Amazon.
Now, you can find Apple TVs on Amazon, and the Amazon Prime Video app on Apple TVs.
Still, shoppers won’t find Apple’s smart speaker, the HomePod, on Amazon. Amazon doesn’t sell the Google Home speaker either, and has a from its site.
