What Is The Prime Wardrobe Return Policy
Prime Wardrobe items may arrive on different daystypically, a prime customer can expect the full order to arrive within 4-6 business days.
Once the last shipment arrives, this is when the seven-day trial period kicks in. Before this period is over, customers can go to the Your Orders page on their Amazon account and choose which items theyre keeping and which theyre returning.
Customers can use the provided return label and drop their package at the nearest UPS. If a customers items arrive on different days in multiple packages, they can use any of the return labels to return their unwanted items.
Items must be returned, unused, unwashed, and undamaged with tags on in their original packagingthis means no wearing an evening gown out for the weekend and then trying to return it free of charge.
In the case that a customer keeps one of their items and then decides to return it after the end of the try-on period, they still have 30 days from the end of this period to return the item or items for a refund.

Our Box Had A Strange Surprise
The perforated tearaway strip on this Prime Wardrobe box makes it super easy to open.
When my box arrived, I raced down to get it off my porch. I was excited to see what this so-called resealable box was all about. From far away, it looked like a normal Amazon box, sans the iconic Prime tape they use. I thought this was odd until I got to the box and realized the resealable part was built right into the box itself.
Despite ordering too many shoes, I was pleased with how well packed everything was..
The shirt I picked for my partner looked brand new in its bag, folded perfectly, tags all in place. But when he opened his shoebox it was immediately apparent that these shoes had been tried on once before. Considering we try stuff on all the time in stores that other people have worn, this isnt a big deal in general.
These ridiculous water shoes were stuffed into the bottom of a men’s shoebox. We returned them too.

Items May Be Cheaper Elsewhere Even On Amazon Itself
At least a couple times, I debated whether to try a pricey item, only to see that it was also available elsewhere, or even as a regular Amazon Prime buy, for significantly cheaper. For instance, I was tempted by a pair of $140 Aravon women’s boots, but as I weighed whether to put them in my Prime Wardrobe cart, I saw that I could get them through regular Prime for $73. Say what? The same thing happened with a pair of JAG skinny jeans. Through Prime Wardrobe, they were $80, even though they’d be only $56 through regular Prime. Given that you could just buy the clothing for the cheaper price and return it using Amazon’s regular free return policy, Prime Wardrobe doesn’t make much sense in these situations.

What Are The Dos And Donts Of The Try
First, when Amazon says try on, they mean business. Dont attempt to wear the item out or remove labels and expect to not get charged. And before you pack your returns nicely into the box, you must visit Your Orders to complete the check-out process. Its important to do this so you dont get charged for the items you dont want to keep. It will be more of a hassle to correct the error later, so make sure that the information is accurate. Its also imperative that your drop-off at UPS is postmarked before the end of the seven business days. The countdown begins on the day your Prime Wardrobe order is delivered.

How Is Amazon Wardrobe Different Than Other Try
Personalized shopping is nothing new, but some services like Trunk Club charge a premium for it. With Amazon Wardrobe, you wont have to pay a thing unless you keep items in your order. Another feather in Amazon Wardrobes cap: It also offers try before you buy benefits for babies. Baby clothing is notoriously hard to size, and being able to return without being charged lifts a heavy burden for new parents.
Anything Else You Should Know About Amazon Prime Wardrobe
- Amazon Prime Wardrobe is a good option if you want to try out something new and dont need it super quick.
- A quick example: my wife needed maternity clothes for our upcoming vacation. She would typically use Prime Wardrobe, but it would take too long. So, she ordered it via regular Amazon Prime to make sure it got home in time for the trip.
- She can still return the items like she normally does, but it will be charged to our credit card until the items are returned.
You need to be careful looking at some items in Amazon Prime Wardrobe as a single listing will have some Wardrobe items and some non-wardrobe items. For example, look at this sunglasses listing:
Youll see below, it says, Try before you buy on some sizes colors. You have to be careful when you click into the product to make sure the size you are ordering is part of Prime Wardrobe.

What Is Personal Shopper By Prime Wardrobe
Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe is an extension of the Prime Wardrobe program but it isn’t included with the Prime membership. Instead, you pay a $4.99 styling fee and you get styled monthly by a stylist. This is much more similar to services like Stitch Fix.
Like the Prime Wardrobe program though, Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe allows you to try on the clothes at home before you buy, with the same seven days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to return.
Overall Selection Is Only Fair
Amazon may be the 800-pound gorilla of the e-commerce world, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have millions of garments at your disposal when you use Prime Wardrobe. While I hunted for a fall jacket, I had a relatively modest 231 trench coats, rain coats, and anoraks to choose from in my size. I only had 72 black cocktail dresses to browse, too. That may sound like a lot, but consider this: Macy’s carries close to four times that amount of black cocktail dresses in my size.

The Easiest Return Of My Life
After all was said and done, we decided to return everything. I liked some of the shoes I tried on, and the Calvin Klein shorts I tried on fit perfectly, but I talked myself out of what would have been frivolous purchases. Instead, now that I know I like the fit, Im keeping an eye on those shorts and waiting for them to go on sale to snag them at a discount.
The return label comes in a really cute folder with helpful instructions.
The order was marked as delayed on Amazon, so I couldnt begin the return process. I’m sure I could have contacted them to clear it up, but I wanted to see if it’d affect the try-on period or not. My package got “delivered” a few days later and I got an email from Amazon stating that, now that my delayed package made it, my seven-day try-on period had officially begun.
It’s nice that you don’t have to justify your returns. No questions asked!

How It Stacks Up
When you compare Amazon Prime Wardrobe to Stitch Fix, the big difference is that, with Wardrobe, youre missing out on the curation aspect you get from Stitch. At Stitch Fix, they poll you on style preferences and know your exact measurements.
As Stitch Fix customer and Directional Cue Director of Marketing Cara Ferguson explains, Stitchfix is great because their clothes always end up fitting perfectly and are unique.
