The take-away here is to qualify for free shipping by only adding stuff to your cart you actually need.
Stuff that you can either use in your home, or maybe as a stocking stuffer or upcoming gift for someone in your life.
Also, its worth noting that you can buy Amazon gift cards to bump you up to the $25 threshold for free shipping.

Prime Customers Pay For And Expect Quick Free Shipping They Arent Always Happy About Amazons Cost
Two-day Prime shipping isnt necessarily a thing of the past, but its undeniable that Amazon delivery isnt as seamless as it used to be.
Amazon doesnt deliver some small items, like razors or hair ties, individually. Instead, customers have to purchase $25 worth of goods before Amazon will send out the box with those items; the point, according to the company, is to give customers access to low-cost items that would be cost-prohibitive to ship on their own. Since 2011, Amazon has given users the option to have packages delivered to lockers, which are basically branded PO boxes, instead of to their homes or offices. Most recently, Amazon rolled out, a new delivery option that lets customers choose a specific day for all their orders to arrive.
All of this makes sense from a financial perspective. Delivering packages to a single location instead of hundreds of individual homes cuts costs, and requiring customers to meet a delivery minimum for small orders helps Amazon consolidate deliveries, as does the Amazon Day program.
But the response to these new initiatives has been mixed at best.
He continued:
This is not just around holidays. no longer means what we’ve been brainwashed to think it means. IMO all the other “benefits” stuffed into Prime are meant to distract customers as the core but expensive shipping promise is deliberately eroded

How Much Does Amazon Fresh Cost
On Oct. 29, 2019, Amazon announced that Amazon Fresh would be free for Prime members in eligible regions of the United States. Prior to the change, Fresh cost $14.99 per month on top of the Prime membership fee.
Amazon eliminated the Amazon Fresh membership fee for Prime members in eligible parts of the United States.
In addition to eliminating the Fresh monthly membership fee in the U.S., Amazon combined the ordering sites for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market, making it easier for customers to place their orders. Prime members also receive free delivery when ordering from Whole Foods.
In Germany, Prime members still have an additional monthly membership fee to use Fresh. However, in October 2019, Amazon reduced the fee for Fresh in Germany from 9.99 euros to 7.99 euros per month. For orders worth less than 40 euros, the delivery fee went from 5.99 euros to 3.99 euros. Prime members in Germany who don’t want to sign up for a monthly Fresh membership can still use the service for 5.99 euros per delivery.

How To Use Same
Like many things that sound too good to be true, there are certain rules and restrictions for Amazon’s same-day delivery. They’re pretty simple, though, so once you learn the basics you could start getting those smile-stamped boxes at your front door in no time.
Here’s how it works. Order an item that qualifies for Amazon same-day delivery before noon, and it will arrive at your home by 9 p.m. Order it after noon and you’ll get it the next day. The service is even available seven days a week , but don’t expect it to be available on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Other holidays and major shopping days will mean limited availability too.
You’d think that kind of speed would be expensive, but it’s really not. If you have an Amazon Prime membership , same-day delivery is $5.99 for orders under $35, but if you spend more than that, it’s actually free. Without a membership, you can still take advantage of this fast shipping option, but it will cost a bit more $8.99 plus $0.99 per item.
So what’s the catch? For one, Amazon same-day delivery is available on only about a million items. While that may sound like a lot, it’s actually just a tiny fraction of the estimated 253 million products for sale in the company’s massive online store . It even pales in comparison to the 20 million items currently eligible for free two-day shipping through Amazon Prime.

Other Fba Fees Explained
Depending on your business needs, using FBA to fulfill Amazon orders may incur additional fees.
Product Return fees
For example, if your product is eligible for free returns through Amazon Prime, you will have to pay an additional fee for FBA returns.
Inventory removal fees
In addition, if you decide you no longer want to use FBA, it can be costly to remove your inventory from their fulfillment centers. If you choose to have Amazon remove and return your inventory to you, theyll charge $0.50-$0.60 per item depending on the item size. For Amazon to dispose of your inventory for you, itll cost you $0.15 to $0.30 per item.
Penalty fees
Amazon is known for very strict seller requirements, and they also use fees to penalize sellers for not following their rules. For example, Amazon will charge a labeling fee to sellers who do not follow their strict barcode label specifications for FBA stock. An unplanned FBA prep fee is charged to sellers who have not prepped products in accordance with the stringent packaging and prep guidelines.
Package prep fees
Of course, you can always choose to have Amazon prep and package products for you for an additional fee. Depending on your margins and order volume, this can either prevent hassle for your business or incur unnecessary additional costs.

Does Amazon Allow Dropshipping
Yes, Amazon lets you dropship on the marketplace as long as you follow a few housekeeping rules:
- Always be the seller of record for products.
- Identify yourself as the seller on packing slips, invoices, and other information in connection with products.
- Remove all information that identifies the third-party seller before shipping the order, including invoices, external packaging, packing slips, etc.;
- Stay responsible for accepting and processing returns.
- Follow all terms of your seller agreement and Amazon policies.
Free Shipping Isn’t Hurting Amazon
Sending packages is expensive. But the retailer isnt afraid to spend.
Theres a lot that has to happen from the time you click Place Your Order on Amazon.com to the time that item arrives on your doorstep a day or two later. There are Amazon workers who have to grab the item from the bin where its kept, workers who pack it in a box, and people who drive the trucks that bring that box from the warehouse to a sortation center to the carrier that will deliver it to you.
Though those workers arent necessarily paid a lot of moneyAmazon disclosed last week that the median compensation of its employees is $28,466delivering these packages is a costly proposition. In 2017, Amazon spent $21.7 billion on shipping costs, it said in its most recent annual report, nearly double the amount it spent in 2015. Some of those costs are undoubtedly because Amazon spends a lot of money sending packages for free to its 100 million Prime members around the world. This is, in some ways, smart strategy. Prime customers get so accustomed to free shipping that they just start buying everything on Amazon. They are trying to get you hooked on the convenience, David Vernon, an analyst with Bernstein, told me. Once they get that Prime ID stuck in your wallet, and you start hitting the buy button, are you really paying the attention to what the price is?

Make As Few Separate Orders As Possible
Naturally, Amazon cuts down on both cost and waste where it can by packing your items up together. So dont get too click-happy! Wait before placing your order until youre confident theres nothing else youll want. Ordering a single item every few days is costly, inefficient, and not exactly environmentally friendly either.
Are You Willing To Get Your Packages A Few Days Later If It Means Free Money
Stay with me here. Yes, when youre a Prime member you get free shipping.
But also, you can choose no-rush shipping and get your package in five days instead of one or two, plus earn $1-$5 toward eligible ebooks, movie rentals, and other digital purchases.
To earn even more, create separate orders for each of your items, and youll get separate credits every time you choose no-rush shipping.

How Fast Do Amazon Sellers Get Paid
Speaking of payouts, its important to know that the Amazon marketplace pays its sellers every two weeks. Some older grandfathered seller accounts and high-volume sellers are on a faster payout schedule, but the average individual or small business Amazon seller is stuck with a 14-day payout.
However, Amazon holds funds from each sale for seven days after a product is received to account for any unexpected charges. So its possible you will not get your total funds every 14 days.
Even then, you dont actually receive your money in 14 days. Once Amazon releases a payout, the transfer time between Amazon and your bank account can add three to five more days until funds are deposited. Because of this, youll usually wait about 12 days to receive your money after a sale is made and the item shipped.
How to Get Amazon Payouts Faster
If Amazon is your main source of sales, this wait time can seriously affect your ability to grow. It can slow stock purchases, cause inventory shortages, and make it hard to stay on top of your bills. While you cant change Amazons payout schedule, there is a way to get payments daily using a service called Payability.
Payability is a factoring service that connects to your Amazon Pro Seller account, tracks your daily Amazon sales, and direct-deposits funds daily based on your Amazon sales. You can even choose between having funds deposited into your bank account or onto a prepaid MasterCard.
