All images should follow the above standards, regardless of whether they are the main images the customer initially sees or the secondary images the consumer scrolls through. Though there is flexibility with the latter images, the primary photo must adhere to Amazons strict guidelines and standards. Since the main image is the first photo the customer sees, it should attract the customer to click. When selecting a primary image:

  • DO NOT use images which contain watermarks or text.
  • DO show the product only.
  • DO use a pure white background.
  • DO ensure the photo is clear and high-quality.
  • DO ensure that the image immediately displays Who the brand is, What the product is, Which variety and What amount the consumer would purchase.

Furthermore, the product image should be extremely visible, occupying at least 85% of the frame. In the same vein, all images should be at least 1000px, and preferably 2560px, in width so that customers can zoom in on the details of the product image.

Once Amazon Sellers ensure that images, especially the primary one, meet the appropriate technical standards as specified above, they can focus on composing the images.

What Is Amazon A+ Content

Amazon A+ Content allows brands to add enhanced content to the product description section of their product listings. They can choose from a variety of layouts and then add visually appealing images and graphics.

Originally known as Amazon Enhanced Brand Content or EBC, Amazon introduced this feature back in 2016 to help brands showcase their products. Prior to this, brands had very few opportunities to distinguish themselves from other sellers.

Without Amazon A+ Content, your product descriptions can only feature plain text copy. So you cant effectively grab the attention of shoppers.

Brands using Amazon A+ Content, on the other hand, can create eye-catching, on-brand product descriptions that persuade people to buy a product.

Update The General Info

You should reach the general information page. This is where you can update the Vital Info, offers, images or add a new variation.

On the Vital info tab, you can update everything but the product ID. If you wanted to update the product ID, you would need to create a new listing for that. If both are identical, you can just copy this listing.

There is nothing to do with variations since we are not creating one.

Offer is where you can change the pricing of your item. Seller SKU and the item condition cant be changed. You need to create a new listing if you wanted to change those.

  • Must NOT show multiple views of the same product.
  • Must NOT be on a visible mannequin, except for stockings or socks.
  • Must NOT have external brand tags, except for stockings or socks.
  • Must NOT be on colored backgrounds or lifestyle images

Clothing Only

For all images, including alternate images:

  • Images that do not match the product title
  • Nudity or sexually suggestive images
  • Images that are blurry, pixelated, or have jagged edges
  • Images of Kids & Baby underwear or swimwear that are photographed on a model
