Pay Special Attention To Color
In Amazons guidelines, special mention of color is also made. As all the images must be an accurate representation of the product, the colors should be realistic. Youre allowed to edit your photos, but just be careful of changing the saturation as it can easily let your colors appear different.
So, after youve taken and edited the photos, double-check that the colors are still true to life. After all, red could mean different things to different people. So, as shoppers have only the photos that they can rely on, its key that your images are an accurate representation of the color.
The Main Amazon Product Image
The main product image is the first photo customers will see when they view your product among the search results on Amazon. It is of utmost importance that your main image entices the customer while following the requirements listed above.
Now for a short quiz: I searched external microphone for camera on Amazon and found two listings with these photos as their main product images. Which one do you think violated ?
If you chose the image on the right, youre correct! Thats because the camera shown in that image is not included with the sale of the microphone. This could cause confusion for customers who didnt fully read the product title or description, and think theyre getting an incredible bundle deal on a camera and mic.
Note that if customers are confused in any way about whats included in their purchase, theyll just click a different listingits that easy to lose a sale, all due to one inadequate image.
In contrast, the first image features a large, detailed, crisp rendering of the microphone for saleas a customer, I see exactly what Ill get, with no confusion.
One of the most important requirements for your main image is that it must have a pure white background that excludes accessories, props, extraneous text, logos, watermarks, or inset images. Basically, the main image has to be a no-frillsbut high-qualitymugshot of your product.
Heres what that looks like:
Here are some prohibited features for main imagesbe sure to avoid these.
Amazon Product Main Listing Image
All images should follow the above standards, regardless of whether they are the main images the customer initially sees or the secondary images the consumer scrolls through. Though there is flexibility with the latter images, the primary photo must adhere to Amazons strict guidelines and standards. Since the main image is the first photo the customer sees, it should attract the customer to click. When selecting a primary image:
- DO NOT use images which contain watermarks or text.
- DO show the product only.
- DO use a pure white background.
- DO ensure the photo is clear and high-quality.
- DO ensure that the image immediately displays Who the brand is, What the product is, Which variety and What amount the consumer would purchase.
To the left: an ideal Amazon main image of a coffee grinder. To the right: a main image not adhering to the pure white background nor the product-only requirement.
Furthermore, the product image should be extremely visible, occupying at least 85% of the frame. In the same vein, all images should be at least 1000px, and preferably 2560px, in width so that customers can zoom in on the details of the product image.
Once Amazon Sellers ensure that images, especially the primary one, meet the appropriate technical standards as specified above, they can focus on composing the images.

What Is Amazon A+ Content
Amazon A+ Content allows brands to add enhanced content to the product description section of their product listings. They can choose from a variety of layouts and then add visually appealing images and graphics.
Originally known as Amazon Enhanced Brand Content or EBC, Amazon introduced this feature back in 2016 to help brands showcase their products. Prior to this, brands had very few opportunities to distinguish themselves from other sellers.
Without Amazon A+ Content, your product descriptions can only feature plain text copy. So you cant effectively grab the attention of shoppers.
Brands using Amazon A+ Content, on the other hand, can create eye-catching, on-brand product descriptions that persuade people to buy a product.
Update The General Info
You should reach the general information page. This is where you can update the Vital Info, offers, images or add a new variation.
On the Vital info tab, you can update everything but the product ID. If you wanted to update the product ID, you would need to create a new listing for that. If both are identical, you can just copy this listing.
There is nothing to do with variations since we are not creating one.
Offer is where you can change the pricing of your item. Seller SKU and the item condition cant be changed. You need to create a new listing if you wanted to change those.
If your item is available on other marketplaces, you can see them below and you can update them accordingly.
Add or update the listing pictures on the Images tab.

You Needproduct Descriptions To Drive Sales
A product description describes your product, what it is and why its worth buying.
It gives potential customers enough information about its features and benefits to draw them in and compel them to make a purchase.
It also plays a vital role in Amazon search rankings and conversions.
The trick is writing product descriptions that appeal to Amazon and your buyers
Descriptions that stand out from the rest of the crowd, which isnt an easy task.
Check out the example above. They use plane emojis for a neck pillow that people will most likely use on a plane. Then they focus on all the benefits their customers will experience in all CAPS!So if you think you can skip the potentially tedious task of writing great product descriptions, think again.
Estimates show that there are over 1,750,000 sellers who have products listed on Amazon, each vying for customers attention.
Plus, more than 197 million people around the world visit Amazon.com every month more than twice the population of France.
Thats market share you cant afford to treat lightly.
Concise, friendly and honest descriptions of your products will bring customers back, time and time again.
Youll receive good feedback, your inventory will sell, and your store will prosper.

Let Customers See The Products Size
For products like furniture, its particularly important to let shoppers know how big an item is. Amazon sellers can do this by adding measurements to a photo or by shooting the product alongside something else for perspective. Ideally, you should provide clarity by doing both.
This helps shoppers make quick and sensible purchases, contributing to an increase in conversions and a reduction in returns. Images of instruction manuals and size guides can also help with this. But remember, they arent suitable as main images.
Take Advantage Of Free Keyword Tools
Using Sonar to search for neck pillow these are the terms found.
There is a button for downloading the complete list .
But in the free version of Sonar you wont get specific search volume for these keywords. If you notice the green bars on the right hand side of the keywords thats how you can see how popular a keyword is currently. The green bars light up 1 to 5 and 5 is very competitive and 1 is the least competitive.
This is a great place to start.

How Can We Add Images To Product Detail Page Under Product Description
I usually see there are number sellers who added images to product detail page under product description section which is a big change towards the better and eye catching product description. My question is how to add these images to product description section where there is no as such interface given by amazon.
Please see the following listings and scroll down to the product description section.
Your comments and suggestions in this context will be highly appreciated.
Sellers cant do this themselves. Contact seller support and ask – link at foot of page. It may depend on the type of seller account you have and you may have to pay a fee to have it done
Just to follow up on this, these pages are created by Amazon and it is not possible for third party sellers like yourself to create pages like these normally. However, it is possible to submit a request to have a page like this created for a fee. Please see the following pages for more information:
At the end of the first page there is a Contact us button which will allow you to contact the appropriate team. Unfortunately, our general Seller Support team do not deal directly with these pages.
I hope this helps.
Pay Attention To Category Requirements
Amazon also has specific image requirements per category. These rules can, for example, include the use of props, nutritional labels, and placement of the product. As these guidelines change from time to time, its key that you regularly check these rules again as Amazon might have made changes without sending you a notification.

Keep The Product Title Length Short
As a rule of thumb, dont use any more than 200 characters including spaces. This product title for an oil diffuser manages to fit in lots of information without going overboard.
This gives your products a better chance of turning up in relevant searches if your keywords are here, especially since the A9 algorithm tracks this. If you show up when customers are looking for what you sell, you position yourself to maximize your exposure and sell more.
Ebc Listing Or Enhanced Brand Content
Amazon Enhanced Brand Content, also known as Amazon A+ content, is a premium feature on seller central and vendor central that sellers can use to represent their brand on Amazon. Amazon introduced EBC or A+ content feature to seller central in 2016. It allows sellers to modify the description of a product listing with custom text and enhanced images. This adds a unique value proposition to their product listing. Amazon EBC also allows sellers to add bullet points to the product description to make the content in the product listing more readable. In addition, sellers can add explanatory content and images of the product, its features, and how to use it.
EBC listing is open for brand owners who have registered through the brand registry process of Amazon. Once the seller gets approval as a brand owner, they can add A+ content only to those products that are a part of their brand catalog.. However, the ASINs that are not a part of the brand are not eligible for Amazon EBC.

What Is Amazon Product Photography
Amazon product photography is the art of taking pictures in a way that communicates to potential customers why they should buy your product. This type of photography differs from regular product photos because this type of photography is more focused on the features and benefits of the product while maintaining an attractive appeal.
Your goal should be to inform and convince your potential customers.
Is Amazon A+ Content Indexed
A+ Content isnt indexed by Amazon in the same way that ordinary product descriptions are. So make sure to include keywords in other parts of your listing.
However, the information and images included in your Amazon A+ Content are indexed by Google. This means it can appear in Google search results, so its still worth optimising your content for search.

How To Write An Amazon Product Description That Ranks High In Search
With over 500 million products in stock, Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world. As a result, sellers have to compete against each other to get their products in front of as many people as possible. One of the best ways to do this is to rank high in Amazons search results.
Use strategic SEO basics like keyword research to give your Amazon product descriptions a boost so that your products are seen by the right customers. SEO isnt just for Google searches anymore. The truth is, SEO is an underutilized tactic when it comes to positioning products on Amazon.
People search Amazon because theyre ready to buy something. Use this to your advantage by combining customers readiness to buy with an SEO strategy.
Weve taken the keyword principles people use on sites like Google and rejigged them to apply to Amazon. By finding the right keywords and using them in your product descriptions, you have a leg up over the competition and have a better chance of improving your sales.
Heres what you need to do.
Include Environments In The Background
Only the background of the main photo needs to be pure white. Amazon allows you to use a different background for additional photos.
Depending on the type of product that youre selling, it can be a good idea not to stick to a white background for all your photos. Instead, you can include a background that will help to show how your product can be used in a realistic setting. This works especially well if youre selling something like furniture. Though, just remember that you should steer clear of adding extra objects that can cause confusion.

Technical Amazon Product Image Requirements
Product images submitted to Amazon must meet the following technical Amazon Product Image requirements.
- TIFF , JPEG , GIF and PNG format
- Image pixel dimensions of at least 1000 or larger in either height or width preferred
- sRGB or CMYK color mode
- File names must consist of the product identifier followed by a period and the appropriate file extension
Note: Spaces, dashes, or additional characters in the filename will prevent your image from going online.

- Your product images background color must be pure white .
- JPEG is the best file format for your Amazon product images, but you may also use PNG, GIF, or TIFF.
- The entire product must be displayed in the frame and you must fill at least 85% of the frame with the product .
- The height or width should be at least 1,000 pixels, but may not exceed 10,000 pixels.

What Are Html Tags
Hyper Text Markup Language is used to describe the structure of a webpage. A browser uses HTML tags to render the contents of a page and display it to you. While displaying the page the browser hides these tags. The tags are enclosed in < > .
In this image you can see how the description has been modified using basic HTML tags.
Find below a list of HTML tags allowed by Amazon. The text to be modified are enclosed between two HTML tags. Every tag enclosed in < tag> marks the beginning of the modification and is closed or end by < /tag> . There are few tags that do not require closing. Also the case does not matter in HTML tags. So < b> and < B> are same.
- To mark a text bold use the tag < b> Anything between these two tags will be bold < /b> .
- To break the line and start writing from next line this < br> tag is used. This tag is as good as using the Enter on the keyboard to give line or paragraph spacing. Multiple < br> tags can be used to adjust spacing. < br> requires no closing.
- < P> tag helps modify text as a paragraph. It basically adds equal space and margin after a text whenever used. < P> Write between these to write a paragraph < /P>
