With a solid foundation of coursework and graduate success in place, Amazon Technical Academy is now working with two online training partnersLambda School and Kenzie Academyto bring its rigorous curriculum to students outside Amazon. Graduates will leave the programs with deep knowledge of software engineering skills and tools, including AWS cloud computing technology.
The new Amazon-backed engineering-focused programs will offer more people access to Amazon Technical Academy coursework, which is especially helpful for individuals who did not pursue a more traditional four-year computer science degree. Graduates will be armed with the industry-leading, bar-raising skills required of Amazon software engineers.
Lambda School and Kenzie Academy already have strong technical foundations: Lambda School focuses on training data scientists and web developers, and the Kenzie Academy offers programs in software engineering and UX design. Both schools are adopting Amazon Technical Academys curriculum and making adjustments to align with their program structure and student needs. The majority of Amazon Technical Academys latest graduates previously worked in those and other non-technical roles at Amazon. Im proud to report that all 77 graduates are now on their way to becoming full-time software development engineers. Along with the rest of the Amazon Technical Academy team, I was excited to celebrate the graduates hard-work during a virtual graduation eventwith a special visit from Dave Clark, Amazons CEO of Worldwide Consumer.
Amazon Technical Academy has trained hundreds of Amazon employees in the essential skills they need to transition into high-demand, entry-level software development engineer roles. Many graduates started in our logistics networks, and this year more than 40% of our graduates came from Amazons customer fulfillment network. 1.1.1 Recruiter phone screen
In most cases, you’ll start your interview process with Amazon by talking to a Recruiter on the phone. They are looking to confirm that you’ve got a chance of getting the job at all, so be prepared to explain your background and why youre a good fit at Amazon.
