Once you are registered, you can access your home page at , Amazons portal for sellers. As a new seller, there are a number of settings to lock downmost of which we recommend you do right away as a newly registered seller.
In the top right corner of the Seller Central home page, click on Settings, which will generate a drop-down list of options to discuss.
Registered And Launched Accounts
Once youve provided all of this information, youre a registered seller on Amazon. Almost immediately, Amazon will encourage you to get started with listing your products, for once you list even a single product, you become a Launched seller, rather than just a Registered, Not Launched Seller. If you remain a Registered, Not Launched seller, Amazon will email you several times encouraging you to list products. Amazon is likely to make much more money from you on referral fees once you start selling products.
How To Use Fba
You can start using FBA by following these steps.
Step 1: Set up FBA. If you already have a Selling on Amazon account, add FBA to your account. If you don’t, first.

Ship Your Product To The Amazon Fulfillment Center
Once youve signed up for your Amazon FBA account, youll receive instructions on how to pack and ship your items to the Amazon warehouses. Follow these instructions, and once your items arrive at the warehouse, youll be ready to sell on Amazon.
If you do not want to prepare your products yourself, you can have Amazon do it for you for an extra fee.
Exceptions To Waiting To Register Vat
An exception to this is if youre selling certain goods which are reduced or zero rated.
This includes products like childrens clothing and shoes, protective and safety equipment such as childrens car seats, protective boots, helmets etc. For a full list of reduced and zero rated products and services take a look at this page.
If youre selling one of these products then it would actually make sense to register for VAT as soon as possible, because the amount of VAT you reclaim will be higher than what you have to pay, so youll increase your net profit.
For the vast majority of products though this wont be the case and thats why I always say put off registering for VAT for as long as possible.
Unfortunately we can only keep that going for so long though as there are a number of thresholds and triggers that mean you have to register for VAT. Which of these apply to you will depend on your specific business but the most common reasons are below.

Package & Ship Your Products To Amazon
Under FBA, Amazon will handle the ongoing storage and shipping of your goods.
First, though, youll have to get your inventory to an Amazon warehouse. Once youre set up to use FBA, this is a simple procedure.
You can assign items in your inventory to FBA. Amazon will then provide shipping labels and packaging instructions. In general, all items must be labeled with an Amazon-provided barcode .
These are then packaged into boxes, and pallets for larger deliveries. Each of these is then labeled for shipping.
Depending on the shipment size and your location, Amazon will arrange for collection.
You should bear in mind that packaging and labeling of products can take time. Particularly if you have several different items. This should be something you consider when deciding if Amazon FBA is right for your business.

Search For A Product To Sell

Adding Your Product To Amazon And Creating Your Listing
Youll need to add your listing to Amazons catalog, its pretty simple and heres how:
From within your seller central account:
- Choose the top level category for your product
- Fill out the required fields. Your fields will be different based on your product category.
- Enter your barcode/UPC code.
- Fill in everything you can, including your keywords and product dimension, weight and so on
Note on barcodes:
You can get barcodes from many sites the one I use is www.barcodelove.eu.
When you buy one, you will get sent a pdf with the barcode and you enter that information into the Amazon listing. You need one UPC product. So if you have 150 units of the same product, you just need one UPC.

Finding A Supplier On Alibaba
Now, were going to cover how you can find a supplier.
1) Sign up for Alibaba .
Create an account with Alibaba and start to search for your item or something similar . Youll see hundreds of results that will match what you need. We are looking for a base model that we can logo or improve upon
2) Search for your supplier.
There will always be an element of risk when dealing with new suppliers and the internet, but here are some filters to help you find a decent one:
- Only look at the suppliers with a gold rating, that have been on Alibaba for at least 3-4 years and that have flexible payments . To find this out, just do an advanced search for Alibaba Gold Members that have been visited and accept Escrow as they should be pretty safe.
- Look for OEM and FOB for delivery .
- Make sure their minimum order quantity is affordable to you. This is usually up for negotiation, but starting out, you might not have the budget for, say, 5000 units, plus its more of a risk. If you cant find a small enough MOQ, Aliexpress may be the way to go.
- Keep in mind that Alibaba is like a bidding platform and that, sometimes, suppliers will indicate lower MOQs to entice you in. Make sure you get the numbers checked.
Once you have a small list of suppliers that meet those criteria, its time to get in contact and talk samples and costs.
