How To Print From An Amazon Fire Tablet
January 20, 2016 by Nathan
I came across a help page at Amazon the other day that explains how to print from an Amazon Fire tablet.
Fire tablets can print all kinds of things, including emails, PDFs, calendar events, pictures, documents, web pages, notes, screenshots, and more.
Ive never been one to print anything from a tablet but the process is pretty simple and straightforward.
The main requirement is owning a printer equipped with Wi-Fi, of course.
If your printer isnt wireless obviously its not going to work because you cant connect a Fire tablet to a printer using a USB cable, in which case youd need to transfer any content from your Fire tablet to a computer to print.
In most you cases all you need to connect your Fire tablet to a printer is an app from the company that makes your printer.
Amazon provides a list of the most commonly-used printer apps available in the Amazon appstore:

Manage Storage On The Fire Tablet
The Fire tablets are affordable – but they don’t have huge storage. When storage gets lot, the tablet slows down a lot. Here’s some things you can do to improve the situation.
Use a microSD card to expand storage: All the Fire tablets support additional storage. The Fire 7 and HD 10 will take up to 512GB, the newer HD 8 and 8 Pro can take up to 1TB of microSD storage. This is the best way to get more space.

Note that you’ll need a card that’s Class 10 or higher to get the best experience. Also note that you can’t move an SD card from one Fire tablet to another to move downloaded movies, books or apps – if you move it to a new tablet you’ll be prompted to reformat it.
Use 1-Tap Archive to free up space: The Fire tablets will automatically find content you don’t use often and offer to archive it – return it to the cloud – to save you space. Head into Settings > Storage and you’ll see the option at the top of the page. Tap “archive now” to remove that content, or “vew content” to see and deselect things you don’t want removed.
Check what’s taking up your storage: In Settings > Storage you’ll see Internal Storage. If you tap on that, you’ll get a breakdown of what’s taking up space. If you’ve inserted a microSD card, you can also tap on SD Card to see what’s filling that card.

Underneath Amazons FireOS software lurks a version of Android. Not that youd know it: there are no Google apps or services on Amazon tablets, so theres no reason youd suspect it had anything to do with Android.

The Fire tablet can support multiple users, giving each their own space. It will support two adults and up to four children as part of an Amazon Household.

Where Your Screenshots Are Saved On Your Amazon Fire Tablet
Finally, its important to note where your screenshots are saved on your device. The Amazon Fire line of tablets include an app called Documents that allows you to browse the files and folders of your device, making it easy to view your screenshots without resorting to the Amazon Prime Photos app.
This Fire Documents app will appear on your home screen when you first set up the document, and you can use it to browse your local storage, move and delete photos, browse your pictures, and more.
Open the Documents app and select the top-right tab in the app, labeled Local Storage. This supplies you with a basic file browser application that allows you to view the folders and files saved on both your internal storage and any SD cards that may be inserted in the device. Youll find your screenshots saved under the Pictures folder on your device.
Then Open that folder to view the Screenshots folder on your device, and youll find all of your screenshots saved there, sorted by date and time, and with their names corresponding to the date and time they were taken. You can then move, cut, copy, and delete these photos from inside the documents app, and they can also be directly emailed to other users.
How To Take And Save A Kindle Fire Screenshot
To take a Kindle Fire screenshot, press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time for a second. You’ll hear a chime and see a small image of the screenshot appear briefly in the center of the screen. The screenshot is automatically saved to your device’s internal storage.
Press both buttons simultaneously. If you press the Volume Down button before you press the Power button, the volume bar may appear in the screenshot.
It’s possible to take landscape or portrait Kindle Fire screenshots. However, Amazon tablets have a built-in feature that prevents you from taking screenshots of videos, so you can’t capture stills from Netflix or Hulu.

What You Need To Install
You will need to download four APK files to make all this work. These are essentially apps that include the Play Store, along with the supporting software that helps it run smoothly and properly. Google Account Manager, Google Services Framework and Google Play Services are among them. Then you have the Play Store itself.
Heres where things can get a little tricky. Not every Fire tablet is the same, so a Fire HD 10 may need different APK files than a Fire HD 8 , for example. So, how do you know which way to go? Ill help steer you in the right direction. The files come from APKMirrora safe source for files like these.
To be absolutely certain of the tablet model you have, go to Settings> Device Options> Device Model to see the version you have. Once you are confident in which device you have, youre ready to finally do this.
