Skip The Minimum Needed To Buy Cheap Add
How It Works: Amazon offers thousands of useful “add-on” items like lip balm, toilet paper, and USB drives for prices that often beat your local Walmart. The problem is, you need a total order of $25 to qualify for these deals. You can get around this by adding a pre-order item like an unreleased video game or movie to meet the minimum.
Things To Remember: Amazon does not charge you for pre-ordered items until they ship, so if you change your mind later about that Big Hero 6 Blu-Ray, you can always cancel the pre-order and keep your cheap add-on items. Amazon will also automatically ship your add-on items after you place your order, so you won’t be waiting until your pre-order ships for your add-on stuff.
Use A Computer To Snag Lightning Deals
Lightning deals do not work on mobile devices unless you have the Amazon mobile app, and even then, there is usually a delay. We recommend working directly from your laptop.
And if its something you really want, you might want to kick everyone off your wifi connection just before the deal goes live, so you arent battling 15 different devices for the bandwidth!

How To Snag Prime Day Lightning Deals

Amazons summer sales extravaganza, Prime Day, is happening on June 21 this year and typically lasts a full 48 hours. One of the best ways to find good prices during the sales fest is Amazons Lightning Deals.
Lightning Deals feature limited stock available at a low price for a limited time, with a purchase limit of one per customer per item. They generally offer some of the best sale prices during Prime Day, which makes the demand for them that much higher.
Lightning Deals expire in two ways: Either the time limit runs out, or customers claim all available stock. Because these bargains often sell out fast, youll want to have an action plan.

The Expert Guide To Buying Amazon Lightning Deals
Shopping on Amazon can be an overwhelming experience if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. However, one area that’s worth browsing is the Today’s Deals section of the website. That’s where the Lightning Deals live, and you might be surprised at the kinds of offers you can find on any given day. You don’t have to wait for massive holidays like Prime Day and Black Friday to score incredible savings.
But not every Amazon Lightning Deal will be worth your time and money. With most days featuring dozens of pages of these deals, it can be hard to narrow down the selection to the items that are relevant to you. Fortunately, we’re here to help with tips and tricks on snagging these promotions. Read our guide to Amazon Lightning Deals, so you know what to expect every day including Prime Day and Black Friday.
Beware Of Unclear Discounts
Occasionally looking at Amazon’s upcoming deals means you’re able to see the actual discount to expect. This is especially popular around holidays like Black Friday, and it can help you decide if an Amazon Lightning Deal is worth watching and getting up early for, so you can add it to your cart. However, the big thing to remember is that the advertised discount might not be what you expect.
For example, you can go to practically any product page on Amazon and see a list price that’s already marked out, along with the actual, discounted price you’ll pay regularly. A hardback book might have a $20 list price, but if you decide to purchase from Amazon, you could pay $12 at any given time because that’s the regular price on the site.
If you see an upcoming Lightning Deal that says the book will be 50% off, you might think that means you’ll be able to snag a brand-new hardback book for $6. Unfortunately, that’s not typically the case. When you see these discounts on upcoming Lightning Deals, they’re usually referring to the list price, not the regular cost. In the book example, that means you’d be paying $10 for the item. And while that’s a great price for a hardback book, it can result in disappointment if you were expecting to pay less.

Amazon Black Friday 2021
Amazon is different from other Black Friday retailers because it doesn’t have a traditional Black Friday ad. Instead of releasing a print ad for the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year, Amazon releases new deals every hour starting the week of Black Friday. While it may be more difficult to plan your Black Friday shopping without an ad from this retailer, the number of deals and deep discounts during the Amazon Black Friday sale more than makes up for it.
In addition to deals during the week of Black Friday, Amazon also traditionally offers amazing Countdown to Black Friday deals starting on Nov. 1 as well as mind-blowing Cyber Week deals. With so many sought-after gifts at such hot prices, the best Amazon Black Friday deals end up on many shoppers’ holiday shopping list.
What Is A Limited
A limited-time offer is any kind of discount, deal, special gift, or reward a buyer can get if they make a purchase from you during a certain time period.
Retailers use limited-time offer ads all the time to get people to buy their products. Here is an example from Carters clothing store for kids.
There are several offers happening here, actually. You have the big one: 50 to 60 percent off the entire site and store for Black Friday. Above that, you have free shipping on all orders, plus an extra 20 percent off your $40 purchase if you use the code WRAPIT. In the lower right-hand corner, theres one more offer: Get 25 percent off when you refer a friend.
Offers available for a limited time only are a great way to draw people in, create a sense of urgency, and get them to convert.
But theres a dark side to offers, too, and Carters is a prime example.
If I came back to this site after Black Friday, I would notice something: different limited-time offers for different discounts on different clothing.
Basically, Carters has sales like these all the time.
Is it truly a limited-time offer if you know there will be one next week and the week after that?
And is throwing all of these deals on one very busy landing page a good idea? Wont buyers get confused?
In this article, Ill show you how to create an effective limited-time special offer that will attract buyers and get them to convert.

What Other Deals Can You Expect This Year
Amazon is also promising early discounts on toys, small kitchen appliances, home décor, pet products, power tools, headphones, and everyday essentials. And thats all before Prime Day even begins.
In previous years, weve seen price drops on popular items like Instant Pots, robotic vacuums, smartwatches, and even mattresses. There will also be deals and discounts at Amazons walk-in stores, including Whole Foods, Amazon Go, Amazon Books, and Amazon Pop Up.
As with past Prime Day events, not all discounts are guaranteed to be available for the duration of the sale. Lightning Deals will have countdown clocks, encouraging shoppers to buy quickly rather than miss the deal. Others may end without warning if items go out of stock. Consumer Reports product experts will be tracking all the deals on Prime Day and sharing the best offers on top-tested products.
Keep Your Offer Simple And Brief
Your offer should highlight only those points that will get your audience to act, like the benefit and the deadline.
Theres no need to get overly complicated in naming your offer or trying to shove every detail into your marketing material. Just keep your limited-time offer wording simple.
Victorias Secret does a wonderful job of this.
Notice how theres a link to Details so people can learn more if they want to. Victorias Secret doesnt try to cram all the details into their ad, which keeps the most important points up front without stressing out buyers.
Kohls, on the other hand, gets too complicated in this ad:
There are so many numbers, its hard for people to decide which one to pay attention to. When the offer includes this, this, or this, or this, it overwhelms the customer. Sure, they want the deal, but are they willing to jump through hoops or try to understand your system in order to get it?
Start by designing a simple offer, and then write the offer in the simplest terms you can. Make it easy for people to take advantage of your offer without too much effort on their part.

Amazon celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015 by introducing a full day of sales on . The company offered deep discounts on Amazon-branded products as well as tens of thousands of other items from third-party sellers. The entire event, , was a huge success, and so Amazon has turned it into an annual sales extravaganza.
Add Other Items Beforehand
If you’re planning on shopping for multiple items and don’t want to place more than one Amazon order, it’s a good idea to shop around before the Lightning Deal goes live. Be sure you’re watching the products you’re interested in, and then add other items to your cart ahead of time. That way, when a Lightning Deal you want goes live, you can quickly add it to your cart and immediately check out.
That being said, if you’re a Prime member, you can set up what’s known as your for deliveries. This perk allows members to choose up to two preferred days a week to receive items. As a result, you’ll get everything you order in fewer packages on those one or two days, rather than having a flood of packages arrive every other day. If you shop Amazon often and if you’re a Prime member, there’s a good chance you do then this could be a good way to avoid having to shop around beforehand, and just take advantage of Lightning Deals as they occur.

If thats too much of a hassle, try looking ahead. Amazon often teases its lightning deals in advance. If you visit the Prime Day webpage, for example, you should see a carousel of Lightning Deals. Keep scrolling through those deals, and youll soon hit products that are on deck but havent started selling yet.
Upcoming Lightning Deals wont show a sale price until they go live, but you can still use that time for research. If you find something youd like to buy, do the historical price-checking right then. When the product goes on sale, youll know whether Amazons limited-time price is worth it or not.
