We live in the States. I have cousins in Melbourne who were recently married. We have a $$ gift we want to send and are finding it impossible to do so. I cannot buy a Visa gift card, Travelex Passport or any other type of preloaded gift card/voucher here to send to Australia so my cousins can use the gift there. Any suggestions please? I have used a Amazon gift card from USA from here with no problems. It would/should? work for where you can order via the Internet but I do not know how the Travelex Passports and similar work. They may not work in Australia but ask the companies, they will know what restrictions their cards have.

what about checking out someone like www.redballoon.com.au – you can do vouchers with them and your newly weds can then select something or you can email them the voucher for a specific gift which they print at their end.

Try David Jones or Myer for gift cards. They are 2 Australian department stores and I am sure you should be able to purchase online. they are great wedding present gifts and shops in all states.

Most big department stores no probs to pay on a UK card, but occasionally I spend hours researching something, finally decide to buy then find they decline my card because of UK registered address . Have used David Jones and Myer fine, plus a heap of smaller flowers/cards/kids toys sites. Mostly no problem
