The Amazon Dsp Or Delivery Service Partner Opportunity Looks Great At First Glance

The aspiring entrepreneur community is buzzing about this new business opportunity. Amazon has apparently received thousands of applications from excited applicants and Amazon has placed orders for 20,000 vans. There is a lot of excitement and that can lead to people being less critical in their decisions.

Now before we begin – we love to see people leave the 9-5 and get started in their own business. I’m not bashing the American dream. But always, always make prudent, educated decisions. Successful investments regardless of the amount require you to remain critical and not be propelled forward based on your emotions.Let’s get started.

At at first glance this looks like a great business.

You have a very low investment starting at $10,000. You don’t need any experience and Amazon, a company we all know and trust , will help you get started. Amazon’s own estimates suggest you’ll be running a business with between 20 to 40 trucks, …up to 100 employees, ………..grossing between 1 million to 4.5 million……….. and profiting up to $300,000 a year. They’ll help you set up your business, help you build your team, you’ll get big discounts on the vans and all the tech you need to get started. They will also provide you 3 weeks of training and ongoing support, leveraging their 20 years of technology and logistics experience.

This is amazing right? Amazon – take my money!

Not so fast. Remember what I said about letting emotions guide you?

Step : Create Your Business Website

How Amazon is helping employees start their own delivery businesses

After defining your brand and creating your logo the next step is to create a website for your business.

While creating a website is an essential step, some may fear that its out of their reach because they dont have any website-building experience. While this may have been a reasonable fear back in 2015, web technology has seen huge advancements in the past few years that makes the lives of small business owners much simpler.

Here are the main reasons why you shouldnt delay building your website:

  • All legitimate businesses have websites – full stop. The size or industry of your business does not matter when it comes to getting your business online.
  • Social media accounts like Facebook pages or LinkedIn business profiles are not a replacement for a business website that you own.
  • Website builder tools like the GoDaddy Website Builder have made creating a basic website extremely simple. You dont need to hire a web developer or designer to create a website that you can be proud of.

Using our website building guides, the process will be simple and painless and shouldnt take you any longer than 2-3 hours to complete.

People The Heart Of Logistics

Want to Be an Amazon Prime Delivery Driver? Heres Your Chance

What does it take to set up a logistics company? First, you need passion, Ed says. Its demanding and fast-paced, you cant do it half-heartedly. Then, you need money, he continues. With Amazons support, to be fair, I didnt need that much. And then, its about the people. Logistics is essentially vehicles, products, and a person, the driver. That person is the heart of everything. If you forget that, youre doomed.

True to his vision, Ed is working to offer the drivers more than just an opportunity to pay the bills: I work for the long term, and not just with veterans. What we do can be demanding, but it also provides flexibility to those who may need it. he says. Not everybody may want to be a driver for all their lives, and thats ok. Ed is engaging with schools and charities around Sheffield to provide drivers with opportunities to keep learning alongside the day-to-day work.

So far, Eds strategy has been successful: Its been brilliant. We are growing at an incredible pace, I have new drivers coming in every week and I am happy to offer them an opportunity. I love being around people and seeing them succeed. Sure, leading a business is challenging. But with someone like Amazon backing you, its easier.

Three: A Different Future

The sun rises over grapevines on Seneca Lakes western shore.

The first grapevines planted for wine plunged their roots into the Finger Lakes soil nearly 200 years ago. The regions wineries have proliferated in recent decades to take advantage of the microclimates that dot the hillsides. While the area is known for riesling, an ideal grape for cooler climates, numerous other varietals can take hold and thrive in the soils blessed by ice and water.

There are not many places in the U.S. where you can make this kind of wine, said Rick Rainey, the founder of Forge Cellars, and it’s a very special region because of that.

Rainey looks the part of a winery owner, his curly brown locks tumbling to his shoulders and his neck wrapped in an owl-print scarf. He sits in the tasting room thats often empty during the winter season. But come summer, it will once again be bustling with oenophiles and newbies alike, swirling glasses and holding them to the sunlight to watch wines legs crawl down the sides.

Forge is just one of more than 140 vineyards located throughout the Finger Lakes, part of New Yorks wine industry that brings in more than $6 billion annually. Grapevines are seemingly everywhere, their spindly branches clinging to wires strung between poles in neat rows that tumble toward Seneca Lake. Wineries inviting you to have a taste or two ring both sides of the lake, creating a scene Rainey says could parallel the great wine regions of Germany or France.

Recruit A Team Of Employees

Once you know you can start training employees, which comes after figuring out how to manage everything yourself, you can begin looking for the team youll be using and relying on to make sure people are getting their deliveries on time and efficiently. Hiring a team isnt hard, but you do need to look at it as if you were the employer in an independent delivery company. Just because you have the tools of Amazon to help support you, doesnt mean theyll be helping in this aspect. Picking out the right team means having a keen eye for good resumes and experience and knowing who will fit in with your delivery business. Its also imperative to not rely on Amazons tools for training too much and understand them to onboard new employees organically.

Set Up Your Amazon Delivery Service Partners Business Program And Employ Staff

Newbies to the program typically start with 5 vans. That means youll need to lease 5 vehicles and youll need 5 drivers, right from the start.

How do you choose from the pool of candidates? Look for people who have experience working for delivery companies. You also want to see a steady work history and logistics experience. You may choose to employ drivers. An Amazon flex driver is a self-employed subcontractor.

What else? One of Amazons strengths as a company is its customer service. You may find applicants who have the ability to deliver packages, but not interact positively with customers. In the delivery business, disgruntled customers can ruin the reputation of a business.

Candidates should have a strong work ethic, the ability to pick up from a delivery station and complete a route, all while remaining focused on keeping customers happy. Your role as the owner is to maintain the reputation of the program, with timely deliveries and satisfied customers.
