Blue Origin Stock As An Investment
- Currently Blue Origin, like SpaceX, remains a privately owned and operated company. There arent any future plans of appearing on a publicly traded stock market. As a result, theres no Blue Origin stock. The closest you can come to investing in a company like Blue Origin would be to buy shares of its parent company Amazon as the two are linked via Amazons CEO Jeff Bezos.
The closest you can come to funding a company may be to buy products off of Amazons eCommerce site. In fact, Bezos himself has stated that Blue Origin is directly funded by the money he makes from selling some of his shares of .
Whichever the case, theres no direct way to invest in Bezos outer space vision at the moment. Therefore, its difficult to analyze just how Blue Origin stock would perform as publicly traded equity.

Stocks Today That Could Be The Next Amazon Stock Tomorrow
Looking for the next Amazon stocks? Then look no further as we pull the curtain back on these seven stocks.
Whenever growth investors start looking at possible investments, were always looking for the next Amazon or the next Apple . How can that not be what were looking for? These so-called Amazon stocks dont have to become $2 trillion juggernauts though.
There are only a few juggernauts out there that are lurking and thats okay. Not every stock has to surpass a massive market capitalization to generate strong returns. Instead, I want to look for companies that are carving out huge roles in growing secular themes. More so, Im looking for companies that started off doing one thing and are now branching out into other industries and businesses.
For instance, Amazon started off selling used books. But even more recently, it was an e-commerce giant. Then it started getting into advertising, web services, media and other areas.
So, thats what Im looking for in some of these smaller companies too. Those that are dominating their original market, but at the same time looking at new growth levers. Not all of these endeavors will succeed and not all of these Amazon stocks will pan out to be massive winners. Or maybe they will, but we wont know for a while. Lets get right to it and look at the next wave of massive growth.
Now, lets dive in and take a closer look at each one.

Example Of Stock Symbol
Stock symbols are also used to convey information about the trading status of a company. This information is usually represented on the NYSE by one letter following a dot after the stocks standard company symbol.
On the Nasdaq, a fifth letter is added to stocks that are delinquent in certain exchange requirements. For example, with ACERW, the first four letters comprise the stock symbol for Acer Therapeutics Inc. , and the last letter W indicates that the shares have warrants attached.
A company that is in bankruptcy proceedings will have the Q after its symbol, and a non-U.S. company trading in the U.S. financial markets will have the letter Y following its ticker symbol. The meaning of the letters from A to Z are shown here:
- A: Class A shares, e.g BRK.A
- B: Class B shares, e.g. BRK.B
- C: Issuer Qualification Exceptionthe company does not meet all the exchanges listing requirements but can remain listed on the exchange for a short time period.

One More Company To Consider
Earlier this month, it was announced that another company called Momentus would also be making its way to the public markets.
Theyd be doing a SPAC IPO reverse merger just as Virgin Galactic did last year. Momentus isnt a direct competitor to Virgin Galactic because theyre not involved in civilian travel.
However, its in the business of building spacecrafts which at least puts it in the same space, pardon the pun. There are a growing number of companies emerging in the space industry.
Therefore, it shouldnt come as surprise that the investing world is trying to get into the sector on the ground floor. Theres even a space-themed ETF trading under the ticker symbol NASDAQ:UFO.
Ambitious investors can get an early jump into what could be a booming industry in the near-future. Maybe youll see Blue Origin stock there soon.
What Would That Do To Amzn Stock
If AWS were to be spun off, the results wouldnt be pretty for Amazons stock price.
The company is facing increasing competition on the retail front as brick and mortar giants like Walmart become more aggressive and more adept with their online presence.
Amazon remains a market leader for smart home devices like its Echo smart speakers another segment with significant growth potential however, competition has been heating up in that segment as well.
Ultimately, as those Q3 numbers show, removing AWS from Amazon would mean the company is marginally profitable at best. It seems unlikely the current Amazon stock price would hold let alone the $2,200 analysts are projecting.
But all of that is conjecture. At the moment, with spinoff talk being nothing more than what if scenarios, AMZN stock remains a solid buy. But keep an ear out for developments on the tech industry antitrust and regulation front.
As of this writing, Brad Moon did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.

Where Does Blue Origin Go From Here
Apparently not to the stock market. Bezos has made no mention of bringing Blue Origin public anytime soon.
So investors who are chomping at the bit to put their money into the future of space travel will have to look elsewhere. With a company like Blue Origin all we can really speculate on is future opportunity in an industry.
It may not be available to the masses in the near future. Is Blue Origin profitable? Absolutely not. Can we compare it to Virgin Galactic? Its certainly not an apples for apples comparison.
But fundamentally, we can expect similar ratios from its balance sheet. Virgin Galactics financials arent pretty to look at for investors.
There are red figures all across the board. It has an operating of -15,626.70%, a return on equity of -120.27%, and an adjusted EBITDA of -$242.16 million. Yikes.
Could Aws Be Spun Off
The unthinkable has become the topic of conversation in recent months. Large tech companies including Amazon have increasingly faced government antitrust investigations and regulatory scrutiny.
They are also under pressure from consumers who are concerned about the use of their personal data. One of the Democratic presidential frontrunners, Elizabeth Warren, is campaigning on a platform of breaking up big tech including the splitting up of Amazon.
CNBC reported earlier in the week that Oppenheimer had warned investors of the possibility that Amazon may have to spin off its cloud computing business to help avoid regulatory pressure from the U.S. and the European Union.
In October, Matthew Wilson, an associate professor of political science at Southern Methodist University told Adweek that Amazon could choose to spin off AWS as a preemptive move against regulation.
If the writing is on the wall and pressure is building for regulatory action then might decide to do it in a way they can control.
Spinning off AWS may not be likely, but it is a real possibility given the current political and regulatory climate.

Amazon Stock Price Volatility
Over the last 12 months, Amazon’s stocks have ranged in value from as little as $2871 up to $3773.0801. A popular way to gauge a stock’s volatility is its “beta”.
Beta is a measure of a stocks volatility in relation to the market. The market beta is 1, while Amazon’s is 1.1436. This would suggest that Amazon’s stocks are a little bit more volatile than the average for this exchange and represent, relatively-speaking, a slightly higher risk .

How To Short And Sell Amazon Stocks
There are currently 4.9 million Amazon stocks held short by investors â that’s known as Amazon’s “short interest”. This figure is 3.5% down from 5.1 million last month.
There are a few different ways that this level of interest in shorting Amazon stocks can be evaluated.
Amazon’s “short interest ratio”
Amazon’s “short interest ratio” is the quantity of Amazon stocks currently shorted divided by the average quantity of Amazon stocks traded daily . Amazon’s SIR currently stands at 1.72. In other words for every 100,000 Amazon stocks traded daily on the market, roughly 1720 stocks are currently held short.
However Amazon’s short interest can also be evaluated against the total number of Amazon stocks, or, against the total number of tradable Amazon stocks . In this case Amazon’s short interest could be expressed as 0.01% of the outstanding stocks or 0.0108% of the tradable stocks .
Such a low SIR usually points to an optimistic outlook for the stock price, with fewer people currently willing to bet against Amazon.

Investors Can Buy Amazon Stock In Canadian Dollars
The NEO Exchange introduced one new and very interesting ticker on Tuesday morning. That ticker is labeled AMZN ). Over 8,000 units had changed hands by midday with settlement within the $22.80-$23.28 price range.
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has introduced more trading convenience to Canadian investors through a currency-hedged Canadian Depository Receipt series on Amazon.com common shares.
Canadian Depository Receipts are certificates issued by domestic banks representing shares in foreign-listed companies. The CDR affords investors the opportunity to hold shares in the equity of foreign companies and to trade such shares on local exchanges.
Amazon hasnt directly listed its common stock in Canada yet, but local investors have the opportunity to buy AMZN stock in Canadian dollars thanks to the NEO Exchange and CIBCs latest innovation.
Local investors who are concerned about associated foreign currency risks, and those who dont like incurring foreign currency conversion costs when buying the U.S-listed companys shares now have a local alternative.
Most noteworthy, the new CDRs allow for fractional share ownership on AMZN. You dont have to raise over $4,600 to buy just one share in Jeff Bezoss online retail business anymore. Just $25 can get you into the game, and you can participate in Amazons future growth story with a much lower cash outlay.
