What Kind Of Deals Are On Amazon Prime Day
As Amazon Prime Day pros, we usually see two types of deals over the event: Lightning Deals and Deals of the Day.
Lightning Deals are flash sales, with very limited stock available for a short, fixed period at a knockout price. You need to be quick if you want them once theyre gone – theyre gone.
Meanwhile, Deals of the Day are less of a mad dash to the online checkout. They showcase deals on specific products that you can mull over for the whole day before deciding to buy.
Between the two, you can usually pick up all sorts of goods on your shopping list. All this, plus unlimited delivery, with more products available for next-day or in some cases, same-day delivery.
As well as products, theres a very good chance of deals, offers and exclusive content from Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch Prime.

While weve not reviewed these exact straighteners, we have tested a similar pair before, the Babyliss 9000 cordless straighteners and our tester was impressed by how easy they were to use and that their locks stayed straight all day. The discounted tool, which is now less than half price courtesy of Amazons early Prime Day sale, claims to be lightning quick to heat up as its ready to use in just 15 seconds. Its ionic technology should lend a helping hand when tackling frizz too.
We Throw On Our Deerstalker Hats And Sniff Out Potential Dates For Amazons Prime Day 2022
The clamour of Black Friday may not have quite faded just yet, but rolling into 2022 means that our minds are inevitably turning to the next big sales event. It still may be some time away, but that wont stop us from trying to figure out exactly when we can expect Prime Day 2022 to take place.
While not as easy to nail down as its autumnal counterpart, Black Friday, Prime Day has, in the past, been enough of a habitual creature for us to make some educated guesses as to when we can expect it to return. These methods are by no means concrete and are particularly unreliable thanks to the seemingly neverending pandemic, but theres enough here for a bit of fun speculation.

Actually I Don’t Like Amazon Got Anything Else
Fair enough. Lets not pretend that Amazon havent been the subject of repeated accusations of poor working conditions and tax avoidance, to say nothing of their anti-union and mass data collection practices. If youre still after some PC upgrades but want to avoid Amazon specifically, the good news is that many hardware retailers will launch their own offers to coincide with Prime Day. In many cases, these will match the prices of what Amazon are asking for the same item, and sometimes undercut the Prime Day sales outright.
As Katharine did last year, Ill be maintaining an Anti-Prime Day deals guide in July, keeping track of the best deals from outside the Bezos ecommerce empire. It goes without saying that these wont need a Prime account, too.

What Is Amazon Prime Day
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest sale of the year. Usually held during the summer months, the annual two-day deals event is for Prime members only – while there are non-Prime offers on the site throughout the sale, all the best discounts are Prime Day deals.
To be eligible for the offers, you’ll either need to for £7.99 per month, or £79 per year, or you can start a free 30-day Prime trial closer to the date, once it’s been announced.
If you’re not intending to keep Prime after the sale, just make sure you cancel it within the one-month trial period.

Prime Day originally started in 2015 as a celebration of Amazon’s 20th anniversary. Designed to encourage people to spend outside of the October-December holiday season, the online retailer says its only goal was to “offer a volume of deals greater than Black Friday”.
Since then, it’s ballooned into one of the biggest sales in the global retail calendar, with many other large retailers launching promotions of their own to take advantage of the huge online audiences around Prime Day – although the UK is smaller on this front than the US.
We’ll be rounding up the best Prime Day deals at Amazon here once they start – and we’ll bring you the biggest offers from the likes of John Lewis, Very, Argos and others too.

Amazon Prime Day 202: When It May Start Predicted Deals And More
Each year, Amazon hosts its own big shopping event. Here’s everything you need to know to be prepared for Prime Day 2022.
Managing Editor, Commerce
Amazon Prime Day, the online retailer’s annual shopping event, used to happen every year in mid-July. But like nearly everything else in our lives — from school to eating out to the Olympics — the pandemic scrambled the normal order of things. With unprecedented warehouse closures, product shortages and everything else that marked the start of Covid in 2020, Amazon pushed Prime Day all the way to October, where it almost blended into the Black Friday season. In 2021, the company went the other way, moving it to June — its earliest slot to date.
This time around, we anticipate that Amazon will return to its roots and bring Prime Day back to July — though that’s strictly an educated guess. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet and when asked, Amazon said it has not “made any announcements about Prime Day 2022.”

Prime Day Vs 4th Of July Sales
While some shoppers may be asking when is Prime Day others are curious about the 4th of July. The federal holiday falls on a Monday and 4th of July sales tend to offer steep discounts across a wide range of devices. Our shopping advice is that if you’re looking to buy any Amazon hardware or services, wait for Prime Day as it’ll likely offer better discounts on Amazon devices. However, if you’re looking for deals on other items, such as kitchen appliances and mattresses, then your best bet is to shop on Independence Day.

Amazon Prime Day Vs Black Friday: Should You Wait
Both Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday are well known for offering some of the best deals of the year, and while last year’s offers were a little closer together due to Prime Day’s delayed date, it’s worth considering whether you should be waiting for November’s sales in 2021. In general, we see the same devices discounted during both Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day deals. However, there are some key differences in how each sale period operates that can change how easy deals are to find and whether you’ll be able to get your hands on them before they sell out.
Prime Day deals are, obviously, limited to Amazon, which means most of the discounts are limited to one retailer and others looking to compete with them. Deals are therefore easier to find and price checking is a lot faster, which means you’re less likely to lose out on top items that are selling particularly quickly.
Black Friday, however, is set across a massive range of retailers with far more variety on offer and a bigger pool of competing shoppers. That does mean we see prices fall a little further as retailers are all competing with each other, rather than just Amazon, but with flash sales offering the lowest of these prices and plenty more eyes on the shops you may not be able to get the deal you’re hoping for.
When Is Amazon Prime Day 2022 Everything You Need To Know Plus The Best Early Deals
The dates for this year’s Amazon Prime Day shopping event have been released. Here are the best deals to expect

The e-tailer has released the dates for this year’s sale and has confirmed that Prime Day will take place on July 12 and July 13. Amazon will begin to release ‘early deals’ ahead of time from June 21.
Prime Day started in 2015 as a sale to mark Amazon’s 20th anniversary and has gained traction since then. Early Prime Day Sales From Walmart Best Buy And Target
Every year other retailers host their own multi-day eventsbefore or concurrent with Prime Dayto compete with Amazon. This year is no exception. We typically see discounts on items like budget TVs, tablets, and robot vacuums . Target is reviving its Deal Days event starting July 11, and while the official dates and names Walmart and Best Buy’s Prime Day-adjacent events have yet to be announced, previous years offer some clues about what to expect.
Target’s competing Deal Days sale will offer discounts on a variety of products from household items to beauty and Apple tech. Our favorite thing about Target sales during Prime Day is the additional 5% savings for Target RedCard members if Target opts to match Amazon’s pricing.
Walmart already hosted Walmart+ Weekend for members. However, the timing made it feel more like a left-over Memorial Day sale than an early Prime Day competitor. There’s likely more to come from Walmart as we inch closer to Prime Day, especially if it chooses to revive past events like Deals for Days, but there has been no official word yet.
Best Buy often hosts its own competing event. In 2021 it was called the Bigger Deal Savings event. In the past, Best Buys sale has started earlier than Prime Day and lasted throughout. Typically well see discounts on techlike TVs, laptops, and tabletsthough worthwhile deals were few and far between last year.

Over 250 million items were sold globally during the last Prime Day, . We don’t have figures for the UK, but over in the US total online spend on Prime Day – not just at Amazon – exceeded $11.0 billion, according to the Adobe Index.
That’s more than the $10.9 billion spent online the previous Cyber Monday, which was the biggest shopping day of 2020, and it’s also more the most recent Cyber Monday . Prime Day is spread over two days rather than one, of course, but these figures are significant. And we’re expecting another bumper year of Prime Day deals in 2022.
