Complete List Of Amazon Warehouse Locations

by Alex Oxford, CMIMay 16, 2018, State Resources

Amazon doesnt publish a comprehensive list of their Amazon warehouse locations for the public. This creates a huge problem for FBA sellers because they have a sales tax obligation wherever their inventory is being stored. Thats because their inventory is creating a physical presence in the state.

That means if Amazon is storing your inventory somewhere, you owe sales tax there. Technically, youll owe sales tax at the state and county level whenever your inventory is being stored. You will also need to pay sales tax if the warehouse is in a special taxation district.

So where is Amazon storing your inventory? You can discover it in one of two ways:

  • As part of our Done-for-You Sales Tax Service we can help you identify where you have inventory stored in an Amazon FBA warehouse.
  • Sign-in to Seller Central, then navigate to the inventory tab and look up the warehouse codes for where your inventory is being stored. Look the code up on this list to find the address.
  • Please feel free to let us know in the comments if weve made a mistake or if you know of a center that were missing.

How Amazon Has Impacted The Arizona Economy

Youre not mistaken if you feel like youre seeing a new fulfillment or delivery facility pop up every few months in Arizona specifically, the Greater Phoenix market. In fact, the company is on pace to average one new facility each month in the market during 2020, with 12 new locations beginning operations during the calendar year and three more facilities ready to come online in 2021.

Growth and expansion is based on demand. Amazons business continues to grow exponentially, and with it, Greater Phoenix is a beneficiary, said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. Greater Phoenix is the perfect location for distribution because of our infrastructure, talent pool, low business costs and advantageous operating environment. Businesses in Greater Phoenix can serve more than 33 million consumers in a single days truck haul, our shipping costs to California are up to 75 percent cheaper than other Mountain West markets and we have the third largest labor pool in the western U.S.

Amazon also announced plans for a 90,000 square foot Phoenix Tech Hub expansion at 100 Mill in Tempe, which will bring more than 500 new jobs to the community.

Amazons rapid growth has corresponded with equally rapid growth in Arizona, as well as a maturing commercial real estate market, which is seeing a huge influx of warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities.

Amazon Makes More Big Industrial Moves In Mesa

MESA, AZ Amazon.com Inc. has multiple major developments in the works in Mesa.

One of the worlds largest and most valuable companies is spending millions of dollars on at least three new warehouse projects near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airports.

In December, according to Maricopa County records, Amazon closed on two large properties totaling about 114 acres, costing the company a total of $35 million. There is also a proposed 2.9 million-square-foot fulfillment center project in the same area that appears to be another Amazon development.

All three of the projects are within less than an eight-mile drive of each other.

The retail giant already has a major presence in the Valley and the state, with more than 20,000 employees across Arizona. In the Valley, Amazon has a handful of warehouses, distribution centers and offices and the company recently announced it plans to hire an additional 550 people in Tempe and has already expanded its office footprint in a brand-new office tower there.

As the Valleys population grows, the local demand for e-commerce, which Amazon is the industrys leader, should grow as well. The Southeast Valley is one of the countrys hottest industrial markets right now, and land and warehouse space near the Gateway Airport in Mesa is going quickly. It makes sense for Amazon to get as much as it can.
