Here are the best Amazon Fire tablets you can buy, in a range of pries and sizes

    Fire HD 10 Plus
    Fire HD 10 Kids Pro
    Fire HD 10 Kids

Choosing the best Amazon Fire tablet can be a challenging process, because Amazon sells its cheap, durable tablets in a variety of sizes and configurations.

While each offers some subtly different strengths, they all excel at allowing you to enjoy your Amazon content on the go. All Fire tablets run on Amazon’s Fire OS, a custom version of Android, and it does a great job of serving up your Kindle ebooks, Prime Video offerings, and Amazon Music playlists in an easy-to-navigate format.

However, they all share similar weaknesses, most notably the fact that all Fire tablets lack easy access to the Google Play Store. That means it’s effectively impossible to install a number of popular Android apps, including Google apps like Gmail, unless you sideload them and that’s a big ask for many Fire tablet owners.

Even so, a new Amazon Fire tablet can be well worth the investment if you need a cheap, durable slate for browsing the web and consuming media. The more invested you are in the Amazon content ecosystem, the more value you’ll get out of a Fire tablet. Here, then, are the best Amazon Fire tablets you can buy right now.

How To Choose The Right Amazon Fire Tablet For You

Still not sure which Amazon Fire tablet is right for you? Here are some important things to consider.

Screen size: The Amazon Fire tablets come in a variety of screen sizes ranging from 7 to 10 inches. If you expect to be watching a lot of videos, you’ll want the biggest, nicest screen possible, so consider the Fire HD 10. But if you just want a tablet to browse the web and read ebooks, a smaller display, like those on the Fire 7 or Fire HD 8, will be more than enough for your needs.

Budget: While all of the Amazon Fire tablets are more affordable than anything Apple makes, there’s still a wide price range of $50-$200, or more if you splurge on extras. If you can afford the higher end of that spectrum, the $150 Fire HD 10 is probably the best choice for you. But if you’d rather spend $100, or $50, the Fire HD 8 or Fire 7 are decent tablets that should meet your needs.

Best Amazon Fire Tablets Of 2022

Amazon is always updating its colorful line of tablets, and deciding which Fire should light up your life remains just as difficult as ever. Yes, the Fire 7’s insanely low price of $59 is alluring, but is that a better value than the $89 Fire HD 8? Is the $149 Fire HD 10‘s screen really worth paying three times the price of the Fire 7?

Amazon just announced an updated version of the Fire 7 and Fire 7 kids models that promise improved performance thanks to a new Quad-processor running at 2GHz and the ability to expand the storage via the microSD slot up to 1TB. For more info on the recent update check out our Fire 7 update announcement coverage.

In May of 2021 Amazon released the Fire HD 10 Plus to add to Amazon’s tablet lineup. The Fire HD 10 Plus comes with an Octa-Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, 1080p display, wireless charging, and you can choose between 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The Fire HD Plus costs $179, basically for an extra $30 you get more RAM and Wireless charging. We will update further once we review it.

That all depends on personal preference. The new Fire HD 10 just got a refresh this year, with a reduction in overall weight and size the Fire HD 10 Plus adds some extra RAM for a performance boost.

Editor’s Note: The new Fire 7 Kids tablet features a new adjustable stand for hands-free viewing, double the storage and more battery life.

How Do I Permanently Delete Apps From My Kindle Fire

    Amazon Fire 7" Tablet 16GB 7th Generation, 2017 Release Black ...

There are two methods for removing apps from your Kindle Fire. The first is to go to the Apps Library section of the device and select the app you want to delete. Once youve found the app, click the X icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to delete it.

The second method is to go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Here, you will be able to see a list of all installed apps along with their corresponding uninstall button. Simply click on the app you want to remove and click Uninstall.

Whichever method you choose, remember that deleting an app will not remove its content or data from your device. If you want to permanently remove apps and any associated content, you will need to factory reset your device.

    Fire Tablet Hd 8 $4499

The Fire HD 8 is the best tablet in Amazon’s lineup. The tablet’s display is perfect for watching HD video on your couch, during a commute, or while on a plane.

The Fire HD 8 has several additional features that make it stand out when compared to the Fire Tablet 7, including double the storage, an additional speaker , twice the memory, a battery that lasts five hours longer, and a faster processor. Those improved tech specs allow you to get away with using the Fire HD 8 tablet for light productivity work, like creating and editing documents and slideshows. Large spreadsheets may still give this tablet a little bit of trouble.

We still recommend getting a MicroSD Card and Bluetooth headphones to get the most out of the Fire HD 8, but the tablet doesn’t have any significant weak spots. It can’t compete with the power of a baseline iPad, but it’s also 85 percent cheaper. The Fire HD 8 is a peerless tablet for everyday tasks, with enough horsepower to handle some work, too.

If you want a Fire Tablet with a little more oomph, Amazon has also reduced the price of its Fire HD 8 Plus tablet by $45, bringing it down to $64.99. This upgraded version of the Fire HD 8 has an additional gigabyte of memory, and support for wireless charging.

We Compare The Current Range Of Amazon Tablets Their Prices And How They Differ So You Can More Easily Decide Which To Buy

    ByJim Martin, Editor| 11 Nov 2021

If you need a cheap tablet the obvious place to go is Amazon. But are its own-brand models any good?

In short, yes they are – if you can live with their limitations.

The main thing to know about Fire tablets is that they dont have any Google services on them. They’re not Android tablets, and therefore don’t have apps for Gmail, Google Maps, the Chrome web browser and more. There’s no Google Play Store either, and this means using Amazon’s Appstore which doesn’t quite have the breadth of choice of Google Play.

Most Google apps – including YouTube – can be used in Amazon’s Silk web browser and for some people that will be acceptable: for others, a deal-breaker.

Fire tablets have their own apps for email, photos, web browsing and of course its own video service, Prime Video and music streaming from Amazon Music.

Ultimately, Amazon wants you to use these services, buy apps from its app store, download books from its Kindle store and buy physical products from its main store. The tablets are a effectively an Amazon shop window, but that’s largely what Apple does with its iPads, too, so it’s not as bad as it might sound.

As long as you check on Amazon’s website that everything app you need is available, then there’s really no reason not to buy an Amazon Fire tablet.

    What Is Amazon Kids+

Amazon Kids+ is a label that Amazon applies to further subscription content. This was previously called Fire for Kids Unlimited, or FreeTime Unlimited in the US. As we’ve mentioned, this is a service that comes free for 1-year with the Fire Kids Edition tablet, but you can also subscribe to it separately, if you’d rather buy the standard tablet.

Amazon restructured the pricing in June 2022, so there’s one price for Prime subscibers and one for non-Prime subscibers. The option for a single child has been removed and now all subscribers can have up to four children using a subsciption. There are options for monthly or yearly subscriptions. Amazon also offers a free 1-month trial, if you want to give it a go.

Amazon Kids+ provides a couple of benefits over the regular Amazon Kids offering that comes with all Fire tablets. Amazon curates content and makes it available to children through the Fire tablet, so that they have access to age-appropriate books, apps, videos and web content.

This opens up the range of content that’s available to children, allowing them to make some additional selections, like accessing more books, without parental intervention. Unlike the content you might assign, this is all verified appropriate by Amazon. You retain the ability to add more content, as above, if you want to.

It’s worth noting, however, that books that you download through Amazon Kids+ don’t then appear on a Kindle linked to that child’s profile.

Should I Buy An Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablet

If youre looking for the best kids tablets around, its hard to beat Amazons Fire tablets: theyre cheap, theyre cheerful and theyre very capable. In fact theyre so cheap you could buy two for less than youd spend on a single iPad.

And the Kids Edition and Kids Pro versions have some important advantages over rival devices, including a free subscription that includes games and ebooks a kid-friendly case and peace of mind should the Fire meet an unhappy fate.

Like their non-kids siblings, the Fire Kids Edition tablets use a modified version of Android thats exclusive to Amazon. It connects to Amazons own App Store rather than the Google Play Store, and its designed to work closely with Amazons own ecosystem so the ebooks come from Amazons Kindle library, the educational apps from the Amazon App Store and so on.

Thats not necessarily a bad thing, because for the first year your Kids Edition or Kids Pro gives you a free subscription to the Kids+ library of apps, books and games so you dont need to worry about spending extra on content for your kids to enjoy.

Tablet Amazon Fire Hd 8 (32gb) Nueva, Sellada (fedorimx)

If youve wanted an but havent wanted to pay $160 for the tablet, we have great news for you. Amazon just dropped the price of its flagship tablet from $160 to just $99its lowest price drop ever, and only the second time theyve done so in the past six months.

This deal is one of the best Amazon has to offer in recent history. Not only are you getting a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen tablet, but youre also getting a 1080p HD resolution coupled with 224 ppi . This roughly translates to youll be getting the best of all worlds when it comes to streaming The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On or The Batman with your Liberty Pro 3 Buds while youre on your way to work or when youre 35 thousand feet up in the air.

Aside from that high quality screen resolution, this tablet packs a lot more under the hood. Previous iterations of the Fire Tablet have included 1GB of RAM or 2GB of RAMand you can still get these RAM options with the Fire 7 and 8, respectively. But when youre trying to work or multi-task, that kind of power can potentially cause lag and other issues.

The Fire HD 10 Tablet was designed for heavier use, with 3GB of RAM available alongside the 32-GB or 64-GB storage drive. Youll also get an Octa-core 2.0GHz processor for speedy gameplay when youre playing your favorite mobile games. Similar to other tablets and its cousin the Chromebook, you can opt to store any important documents on a cloud drive, photos included.

Amazon Fire Summary: Which Is The Best Model

    squirrel_widget_239545

The Amazon Fire HD 8 is great value for money, giving you more space and a better display than the Fire 7, but still at a really attractive price. It sits in an appealing position, offering portability, excellent battery life as well as great sound. The latest update means plenty of power and more storage at your disposal – and it’s our favourite tablet from the selection that Amazon offers.

Alternatively there’s the Fire HD 8 Plus, which adds Qi wireless charging with an optional compatible dock – so you can use it as an Echo Show.

    squirrel_widget_148776

The Amazon Fire 7 is one of the most affordable tablets you’ll find and it’s perfect for those who might break it – like kids – although do also consider the Fire 7 Kids Edition too. The Fire 7 is the least powerful and still has an old Micro-USB connection on it, while also offering a slightly elongated build compared to the newer models.

The Kids Edition gets a case, 2-year warranty and 1-year subscription to Fire for Kids+ and there are two versions, one for ages 3-7 and one for 6-12 with a slightly different type of case. The older model is called the Fire 7 Kids Pro.

    squirrel_widget_4979828

The Fire HD 10 offers a slightly more compact design over the older 2019 version, a brighter display and more power, so it’s likely to be popular and a worthy upgrade over the 2019 model.
